LG Electronics sponsored the 'Steps for Arthritis' event held in Dubai Festival City, a 2.5 km walkathon organized by the Emirates Arthritis Foundation.
HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai joined the 500 participants in the second annual walkathon to raise public awareness on the disease.
The money raised through the walkathon was donated to the endowment fund, which supports arthritis patients in need of expensive medication.
LG Electronics also sponsored the Al Noor Family Fun Fair, organized by Al Noor training centre for children with special needs.
The full-day event, inaugurated by Mr. H. S. Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE, on the centre's premises saw fair-goers of all ages enjoying games, bargains, lots of prizes and mouth watering food. LGE also contributed to the fund which will used to provide further support to the centre and the children who rely on it.
Al Noor is a Centre for Children with Special Needs run under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs. It is passionately committed to helping special needs children from their infancy to adulthood, its goal being to integrate its students into society.
