Under the Energy Saving Recommended scheme, only products that meet strict criteria of energy efficiency can carry the Energy Saving Recommended logo.
The criteria of the Energy Saving Recommended scheme are set by an independent panel and reviewed annually. The Energy Saving Trust® also tests a percentage of these products to ensure that where there’s a logo, there's a smarter choice.
The Energy Saving Trust® aims to make it easy—whatever the product, whatever the labelling system—just look for the Energy Saving Recommended logo.
LG Electronics is one of the largest global companies of its kind. Because of this, we feel we have a social responsibility to actively take on the environmental issues that arise from the carbon output of our industry. We have implemented, and are continuing to perfect, two independent strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of our company:
1. Develop more environmentally friendly technologies in our factories
2. Continuously raise the energy efficiency of our products
LG helps consumers reduce greenhouse gas production by providing them with products that meet the Energy Saving Trust®’s Energy Saving Recommended standards.

Enjoy clear, cool, filtered water right from your refrigerator’s ice-and-water dispenser.
Water filters have come a long way in reducing the harmful contaminants found in drinking water, also making great strides in the way they accomplish the task. Study shows that water consumption is on the rise, and people are drinking more bottled water everyday. Unfortunately, not many consumers know that filtered water is actually held to higher purity standards than bottled water. Bottled water often contains more bacteria and impurities than tap water, because the EPA regulates municipal water systems more stringently than the FDA regulates bottled water. Water filters have made great strides in reducing the harmful contaminants found in drinking water; however, most filters also remove essential micronutrients, such as calcium and fluoride as well.
LG refrigerators use a premium water filtration system that removes 99.35% of lead and many other water contaminants, without removing the beneficial fluoride, providing a great tasting, healthy refreshment.
Design plays a critical role in harmonising technology and human needs. In an effort to predict emerging needs and deliver innovative products to the public, LG has developed a comprehensive design philosophy that boils down to four basic elements: concept, style, interface, and finish. At LG, we strive to make your home life easier and more enjoyable by creating digital appliances that fit your lifestyle and home décor.
In this era of digital technology, LG has been delving deeply into design and research. Our design team is focused on creating digital appliances that make life easier and more fun. Digital technology is becoming an increasingly important tool in our modern lives. A growing number of products come equipped with “intelligent” microchips and networking options. This technology, though still in its early stages, has great potential—requiring our designers to put on their “inventing caps” to predict emerging trends, design new lifestyle concepts, and test out their designs on a demanding public.
At the LG Life Soft Research Lab, established almost 20 years ago, researchers, designers, and trend scouts work to predict the future by examining and identifying consumer desires; observing the public’s interest in products; and developing design concepts and solutions, based on this research. This is how LG stays one step ahead of the game—we’re always working on products for the future. Our research is focused not only on new products and technological trends, but also on understanding customer and market behaviour.
A great deal of your daily life takes place in the kitchen. So we put careful research and deliberation into our kitchen designs to meet your needs. The four basic elements of our design philosophy—concept, style, interface, and finish—are carefully integrated into every LG digital kitchen appliance.
LG is constantly pushing the boundaries of digital technology and stylistic sophistication to reflect the desires of our customers. We aim to create convenient, spacious, and stylish refrigerators for consumers with different needs. Two examples are our Combination Fridge/Freezers and Side-by-Side Refrigerators. With unique innovations like the Moisture BalanceTM Crisper that controls humidity in your vegetable drawer, to the ingenious XtraSpace Icer that frees up storage space by placing the icemaker in the freezer door, LG is working hard to sustain its reputation as the industry’s leader in design innovation.
Since everyone’s needs are different, LG offers two different refrigerator styles, each with an array of features.
LG brings innovation and excitement to side-by-side refrigerators. LG’s innovative, side-by-side fridges, boast smart features such as digital temperature controls to compensate for subtle changes in temperature, an XtraSpace ice-and-water dispenser built into the freezer door, a fully-adjustable shelving system, and stylish, contoured doors with hidden hinges.
LG combination fridge/freezers epitomise convenience and style. Their fresh food section is placed at eye level for easy access to the foods you reach for most, while flexible shelving and separate, digital temperature controls provide maximum space and convenience.
