LG Optimus L3 (E400F)
A good basic phone!
After reading several rambling negative reviews, I thought I would give some support to this capable phone! I bought it as a spare phone only, but I've been rather impressed with this little low-end smart phone! It has great battery life, is a good phone to the ear or on speaker, is a capable texting phone once you get used to it, has a great radio and music player, has 5 user configurable home screens for many useful apps, bookmarks, widgets etc, has some nice ringtone, alert & alarm sounds -plus you can add more, it's well built, light in the pocket! I find it a capable & clever little phone, but I will add that it is a bit fiddly with the small screen when using the web or when messaging or scrolling.. but you can get used to it & it will do the job adequately. It's a little trooper for it's price & what it is!

Handy phone - BUT...
Was really enjoying my new E400f until I started getting memory full errors. Only way out seemed to be to delete all the updates for the pre-installed apps. Is there any way to fix this problem?
Lack of memory is a serious problem!

This phone doesn't deserve the title 'smart phone'. Yes it's a cheap phone and I don't expect the same functionality from it as a high end phone but I do expect a "smart phone" to be able to install more then a couple of apps before the memory is full.
Really why advertise "memory expandable to 32GB" in this day and age if it can only be used to store media (music, video etc).
Because of the way the phone has been designed with 384MB RAM, which is viewed by the operating system as 'phone' when installing applications, and 1GB Internal memory which is detected as the SD card as far as applications are concerned once you install a couple of applications on top of the pre-installed stuff you'll quickly end up with a memory full error, thus your actual external/expandable SD card is useless except as a media storage. To get any half reasonable functioning out of it you need to root the phone and even then it's a huge headache.
To top things off it keeps telling you there is a software update and then will get stuck in a reboot loop if you accidentally accept the LG update.

Great for work but no memory space
This is a nice neat compact mobile with all I need.
BUT, within 2 days of purchase I got a "memory full" notice WHY? because everything installs onto the phone.
Therer are a number aps included in the phone when purchased, you'll only need 1/4 of them and need to download few more, but you cant save to a SD Card, only to the internal memory, if you know how to transfer that is. None of the aps installed are removable, they take up 90% of the memory so forget adding anything.
I cant install any software from the phone to PC, I have to download it, but none of it is compatible WHY? cause lg didnt think roperly.
Id rate this phone a 5 if you could save everything to a SD card nd not the phone memory or internal memory.
Due to the poor saving options, which fill your phone and cant be stopped #they just keep on running and if you dont check, they'll do automatic updates.# I have to say this phone is poor and is realistically a 1 *
