Sydney, Jan. 6, 2014 – LG Electronics (LG) today announced it is ramping up OLED production in 2014 via engineering improvements.

Available at selected retailers, LG’s Curved OLED TV created a sensation in the category ever since it was launched to market in 2013.

Now, LG’s engineering expertise in display panels has enabled the company to produce higher volumes of OLED televisions due to higher yield rates. As a result, the company has now reduced the price of its flagship 55” Curved OLED TV (55EA9800), bringing this technology within reach of more Australians.

“Very few companies have been able to master the manufacture of OLED TV technology, and we’re incredibly excited that not only have we been able to innovate and lead in this new segment, but we’ve worked out how to produce at high volumes. This is a powerful breakthrough that consolidates LG’s position as one of the world’s leading consumer electronics companies. I feel like we’ve ‘cracked the code’ on OLED TV production efficiency.” said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager Marketing at LG Australia.

“We see OLED technology as the future of television, and we believe consumers with plasma and LED/LCD TV’s will look at superior OLED technology as a real option for their next purchase. The new price point will bring our most innovative TV technology to more Australians seeking greater picture quality combined with absolute style,”

Producing clearer, more natural images than standard LED/LCD technology, LG’s curved OLED TV offers an extraordinary home entertainment experience that has to be seen to be believed.

Not only does LG’s 55” Curved OLED TV offer an incredible viewing experience, it is also energy efficient. The 4.5 star energy rating makes LG’s Curved OLED TV the most energy efficient OLED TV in the Australia market due, thanks largely to LG’s innovative WRGB self-lighting technology.
