LG INTRODUCES AUSTRALIA’S FIRST FULL DOOR-IN-DOOR REFRIGERATOR
16th August 2012, Sydney– LG Electronics (LG) has announced the launch of its latest refrigerator range equipped with the innovative Australian first full Door-In-Door technology. A specially designed dual access door system featuring a unique panel that customers can open simply with the push of a button, the technology reveals an unexpected new space to store and organise their food and beverages.
Design, style and convenience are at the heart of this unique new Door-In-Door technology. Ideal for busy families, large households and regular entertainers, the elegant new model allows consumers to place their most popular chilled items in the front door and store larger and less used items in a second fridge compartment at the back.
Thanks to the innovative Door-In-Door feature, customers can conveniently find and retrieve their favourite snacks or beverages without having to search the refrigerator. In addition to the quick and easy access to frequently sought-after food items, the Door-In-Door minimises temperature loss for a more consistent fridge temperature.

LG’s leading model is the Premium Door-In-Door French Door Fridge (GR-D907SL) currently offering the largest gross volume capacity of a French Door format on the Australian market. It delivers an impressive 907 litres gross capacity – over 100 litres more than the largest French Door Fridge currently in the market, yet it maintains a width of 908mm, allowing it to fit within a 920mm wide kitchen cavity. LG achieves this large capacity through the application of High Density Insulation Technology in the refrigeration compartment. Additionally, this large capacity model provides wide refrigerator access with an internal 832mm width - perfect for extra wide platters for entertaining.
Other unique LG features include the innovative Slim Indoor Ice Maker that is built in the door, improving space efficiency resulting wide open shelf space in the refrigerator interior and retractable interior shelf to create space for taller items. An exciting new feature is LG’s wide temperature controlled pantry drawer which not only offers wide storage space for large food and platters but you can select the optimal storage temperature depending what you place within. The temperature can be adjusted between -1C⁰ for meats, 1C⁰ for deli items or 3C⁰ for vegetables.
LG’s Door-In-Door refrigerator’s stylish exterior can be harmonised seamlessly into almost any kitchen environment with its sleek stainless steel finish. The refrigerator also uses LED lighting that emits a soft blue light, adding a special accent to the décor and providing much appreciated kitchen illumination at night. In addition, the three layered freezer organisation provides three well-spaced and easy to access storage drawers in the freezer for better use of the interior area and a much sought out solution for achieving tidy freezer organisation.
LG’s Pure N Fresh Filter is also equipped inside the new range. This technology serves as an air filtration system that circulates air and deodoriser to reduce odours within the fridge.
The new LG DID refrigerator range will launch between September and November 2012. The hero GR-D907SL 907Ltr French Door Fridge will be available during September 2012 with a RRP of $4,599. It will be complimented by a range of 2 additional models launched during November 2012 including a Side by Side Door-In-Door format.
The launch will be supported by an exciting national multi-channel communication campaign featuring LG’s brand ambassador Georgie Parker.
The refrigerator range comes with LG’s 10-year parts warranty on its core technology the Linear Compressor, delivering efficient performance and quietness.
