Australia, Sydney, 2 February, 2009 - LG Mobile Australia is thrilled to announce their sponsorship of Australia's two largest professional surfing events; the men's Quiksilver Pro and women's Roxy Pro, for the second year running. LG's latest mobile release, Renoir (KC910), will capture all the action at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast from 27th February - 11th March 2009.
The Quiksilver Pro Presented by LG Mobile will feature some of the world's best surfers, including defending and nine-times ASP World Champion Kelly Slater and Australia's own World Champion and 2008 finalist Mick Fanning. In total, 48 surfers will battle it out for a share of US$430,000 in combined prize money and the all-important lead in the race for the 2009 World Title. The Roxy Pro features the world's top rated 18 female surfers.

Following on from the success of last year's competition featuring Viewty, LG Mobile's new multimedia handset Renoir is sure to blow contestants out of the water. Featuring a sharp 8 megapixel camera, spectators can capture incredible surfing moments with ease thanks to a full 3.0-inch touchscreen and user-optimized interface. Users can also replay epic surfing moments in detail after filming with Renoir's slow motion video recording function.
Thanks to LG Mobile, customers have the chance to meet ASP World Champion surfer Kelly Slater. Customers' who purchase a Renoir between 1st January - 20th February 2009, can visit a dedicated microsite and complete an entry form telling LG how, in 25 words or less, they would capture the Quiksilver pro experience on their LG Renoir. The most creative entry as judged by an independent panel, will win a trip for two to the Quiksilver Pro event where the winners will meet the world class Slater and receive $500 spending money. Ten runner's up will receive $100 Quiksilver vouchers.
