WATER LEAKING FROM THE FRONT

Window Air Conditioner

If your window air conditioner is leaking from the front, the air conditioner is not properly tilted in the window. As the air conditioner cools, moisture is removed from the air. This moisture collects in the base pan of the unit and then runs to the back where it should drain to the outside. For this reason, the air conditioner requires a ¼” – ½” tilt to the back.

If the air conditioner is leaking from the back outside, this is normal. As the unit cools, moisture is removed from the air. This moisture collects in the base pan of the unit and then runs to the back where it drains to the outside. This is why the air conditioner requires a ¼” – ½” tilt to the back.

Portable Air Conditioner

If your portable air conditioner is leaking from the drain port or from the bottom of the unit, remove the plug and inspect it for damage. If there is any damage to the plug, the plug needs to be replaced. If the plug or the port is not damaged, service will be required.
