Stunning TV at an amazing price Its like looking through a window. Its a cliched line I know, but its the first time that I truly got that sensation of ultra-depth. And that was just 2D material, 3D 4K would be even more amazing I would imagine. I have only seen this TV in store playing a 2D 4K demo loop, but that was enough to cement in my mind that 4K is the future. Its like watching a moving magazine, the picture is so rich & colourful; graphics and text are so crisp and detailed. The only thing I couldn't test properly in store is black levels and contrast ratio (impossible with bright store lighting). Blacks certainly aren't as good as plasma or OLED, but the extraordinary resolution makes up for it. Just don't expect this TV to look any good playing anything less than 720p content, as no matter how good the scaling is, its giant high-resolution screen will show off every imperfection of poor source material. I wouldn't even bother watching our terrible quality SD Freeview TV on it. Once true 4K source material arrives, owners of this beast are going to be in home theatre nirvana! Should also be a perfect match for the upcoming PS4 and XBox 720! :) 2 May 2013
Awesome Screen After a lot of thought over the last three months about which TV to get I finally decided on the LG 84LM9600, the deciding factor being its huge screen and its amazing 4K resolution which should pretty much future proof it for atleast the next 5 years or so. Ive had it now for a week and first impressions are excellent, picture qualty is fantastic with Blue Ray and pretty good on HD Foxtel broadcasts, SD is a pretty average affair though and best avoided which is not hard to do. 3D is finally worth watching with no flicker and images so life like you could reach out and touch them. I cant wait to get some proper 4K content no doubt it will be breathtaking. On the negative there is some uniformity issues with some minor horizontal banding and light bleed from the corners of the screen although neither of these problems are visiable when watching actual content. Overall so far I love my new TV and would recommend it! 20 March 2013
Unbelievable Picture Quality I saw this TV in a showroom, and the picture quality is unlike anything i have ever seen in a TV before. This is by far the most outstanding picture quality on the market today....need to see it for yourself to really appreciate how good it is. 2 February 2013
