What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for quality and price. Very easy to use. Store easily in my purse. Exactly perfect for a phone not smarter than me! I do not need more advanced features. It fits my needs for easy communications and short texts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great emergency phone for seniors This phone is sturdy, inexpensive, and easy to use. We bought it for the seniors in our life to have an emergency phone. The screen and buttons are easy to read. It has more bells and whistles than they think they will use! 2 short lessons, and they can make and receive calls, take (low resolution) pictures and send them to others. It's a great phone for the person who thinks they don't need one, until they can't find a payphone anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For non-cell-phone users Price and ease-of-operation are what sold me on this phone. Sure, it has many features I'll never use, but one doesn't need a college degree to figure out how to simply send and receive calls. I have only two complaints. 1) The uni-directional nature of the speaker — any slight movement of the device and I can't hear the other person, meaning frequent requests for him/her to repeat what was said. For privacy, this means a headset is required, an additional expense I didn't count on. 2) Syncing to the computer is quite a difficult process. I downloaded the PC Suite program, which took me a while to find. While it sees the phone, whenever I try to move a file (eg. a picture) to or from the phone, I get a "file not found" error on the computer (the file on the computer was in the folder created by the program itself, so there's no reason it shouldn't find it). Perhaps in time I'll figure this out and solve the problem, but it doesn't seem very user-friendly. I've been using PCs for more than 20 years, but this is my first foray into phone technology. I'm also not fond of the idea of text messages (we've had that for decades, it's called email) but I gather that's an unfortunate part of every phone, and I'll live with it. The price is excellent, and fit well within my tight budget.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great basic phone Great basic phone for calls and texting. Screen is large. Texting on a flip is a little different compared to smartphone but can be done. The only cons are the back can be difficult to slide off to put in battery and manual could be more detailed. Overall happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Phone! A phone was made to make calls, which now have adapted to do much more then could of ever been imagined years ago. This phone does what I need it to do ... make calls! I love how small and easy to use it is. I text but rarely so T9 Word is perfect. Pay as you go is the best option and great for no contracts. Best yet, no touch screen. I would recommend this phone to anyone who still knows what a phone is used for... Not all this web browsing and photo sharing stuff. The basics!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from simple basic backup phone I need a simple inexpensive phone for backup calls to replace a pager. This phone fits the bill. I'm on call for work and needed a second phone on a different network just in case my primary cell doesn't get the call. This pay as you go plan and the C440 keep the cost down as it will see limited use. Very simple and reliable and good area coverage. Can loose signal in areas that primary cell doesn't. That's why it's the backup. New computer calling system would not work with the pager but works with this phone. Lack of accessories available for this phone such as cases, low cost extra battery and belt clip holders. Ring volume and shaker feel are not that great in high noise areas. But it's small enough for my front shirt pocket. This C440 does what I want it to do. Keep cost down and work properly. Good phone for lite cell users.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No assistance available Great little starter phone with some useful features. Good battery life. Instruction booklet is almost useless though. In its 5th month of use, the phone is stuck on Browser and it is impossible to reach the Virgin Mobile booth where I bought it to get it unstuck and I am about to leave on a trip.
