What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No continuous drainage Bought 3 2 of them from Amazon one month ago. These have manufacturing defects that will not allow them to run and drain into a drain. Once the bucket is full even with a hose attached to a drain the machine shuts off. Have to pack them up somehow and ship them back to Amazon. Apparently LG Canada does not warranty these products in Canada even though Amazon is selling them and they come with a manufacturing warranty in the box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features and great design I purchased this unit after returning another manufactures unit which I was not happy with. This unit looks great, has good features. I like that the air blows up, easy to use controls, easy to empty water bucket and is fairly quiet in the low fan speed. The compressor is also quiet. One thing I wish that this unit had was a quiet standby mode, where the fan shuts off when the compressor is off. Waste of energy, although not that much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So quiet that I thought it was broken! After plugging in my new LG dehumidifier, I waited for the compressor to kick in 3 minutes after start-up. I was expecting it to be as noisy as my previous dehumidifiers. After 10 minutes without the compressor, I removed the water bucket to check for water, just to be absolutely sure that it was not working. On removing the bucket, the noise (of the fan, I thought) reduced a little bit. It was working! Only because it is so quiet did I think that it was not working. Nothing rattles, and the compressor does not even seem to be working hard. Well done LG! Another point that was deficient in my previous dehumidifiers was the defrost cycle. Because I heat my house at 17 C and dehumidifiers are designed for warmer than that, the coils on most dehumidifiers frost over and ultimately ice over. The compressor turns off to allow the coils to defrost. On previous dehumidifiers, the defrost cycle did not kick in until the coils were well iced over. (This might partially explain the short life span of my previous dehumidifiers.) My new LG defrosts early on, as soon as the coils are visibly frosted. (I peaked behind the filter to see them.) Not only should this lead to a longer life of my LG, but it should also dehumidify faster (and therefore with less electricity). Well done LG! Thirdly, I like the design of the water bucket. The bucket slid into my previous dehumidifiers. It was held there tightly, presumably to avoid rattling, but without success. On my LG, the top of the bucket tilts out for removal, rather than sliding like a drawer. This design allows the bucket to be removed easily and still not rattle. Well done LG!
