NETFLIX RECOMMENDED TV PROGRAM EXTENDS TO LG CANADA’S 2015 TELEVISION LINEUP
TORONTO, June 16, 2015 – LG Canada’s 2015 TV lineup is joining the Netflix Recommended TV program, which helps consumers identify televisions that offer both the best Netflix experience and superior TV performance overall. The rigorous, criteria-based smart TV evaluation program now includes five LG webOS Smart TVs including the new 2015 EG9600 4K UHD OLED Smart TV and UF9500 PRIME 4K UHD Smart TV with a wider colour gamut that delivers a broader range of purer colours, as well as the UF8500, UF7700 and UF7650 4K UHD Smart TV series.
“The ability to easily stream content to their TVs has become essential to consumers, and we are excited for the Netflix Recommended TV designation to help consumers identify the best TV for them,” said Nacho Angel, Vice-President, Home Electronics, LG Canada. “Our 2015 Home Entertainment lineup represents a wide range of screen technologies, all featuring LG’s simple and intuitive webOS 2.0 platform, offering Netflix members a superior TV experience.”
LG's Smart TVs were the first 4K UHD TVs to be designated as Netflix Recommended TVs, thanks to LG's updated webOS 2.0 platform, which delivers fast smart TV performance and fast-resume capabilities – both important factors to qualify as Netflix Recommended TVs. A key feature of LG's 2015 TVs is webOS 2.0, which offers simple switching to let users quickly shift to any content that they'd like, as well as simple discovery to help find new sources of entertainment. LG also announced that their 2014 webOS-enabled Smart TVs will receive a software update later this year, allowing current webOS users to experience the improved features without having to purchase new hardware.
First previewed at the 2015 International CES®, LG’s new product lineup features 4K UHD OLED and LED TVs, home audio products, and monitors. They will be rolling out throughout 2015.
