The remote control is often the reason the device will not power on. Use the power button on the front of the unit to verify the issue is with the player itself if changing the remote’s batteries does not correct the issue.
Check the power cable/outlet
Some LG Home Theater Systems require a manual insertion of the power cable to the back of the unit. If the power cord on the device is not a fixed cable, it could have come loose. Push the power cable firmly into the back of the player and ensure the cord has also been firmly connected to the power source.
If the device is connected to a surge protector/power strip, remove it and connect the unit directly to a wall outlet. Press the power button on the device itself and if the unit turns on with the button, the surge protector/power strip was the issue.
Note: It may also be necessary to take the device to a different room and use a different outlet altogether for further troubleshooting.
If the device remains unresponsive, it may need to be sent in for service.
