REMOTE LAUNDRY MONITOR ISSUES

RLM (remote laundry monitors) were accessories sold for specific model LG washers and dryers. The washer and dryer would transmit information to the RLM using your home’s existing electrical wiring. These compatible models carried a “M” at the end of their model numbers, such as ‘WM2688HNM’.

If the remote laundry monitor will not operate at all:

Check that the PLC modems have been connected securely. Also, check and ensure the Home Code setting is correct.

Attempt to run the RLM by plugging it in another outlet. Note: The RLM can take a minute or more to turn on after installation.

Avoid outlets near electronic products such as televisions, radios, and small appliances.

Most homes have 2-phase 220V electrical service that is split into two separate 110V circuits. If the appliance is plugged into one 110V circuit and the monitor is plugged into another, the PLC signal from the appliance may not be received by the monitor. This problem can be solved by purchasing and installing a phase coupler to transmit the signal to the other 110V line.

If the washer status is displayed, but the dryer status is not (or vice versa), clear and reset the home code. If neither machine’s status is displayed, make sure all connections are secure and attempt to clear and reset the home code.

To reset the home code:

Washer: Turn off your washer. Press and hold the ‘Extra Rinse’ and ‘Stain Cycle’ buttons simultaneously, then press power to turn the unit on. The home code becomes cleared automatically. After showing ‘Hcr’ for 3 seconds, the machine is automatically turned off and the home code is cleared. The home code must now be reprogrammed. Make sure the PLC modem is connected and power them on. Press and hold the ‘WASHER/DRYER’ key for 3 seconds. The word ‘Set’ will appear on the display.

Dryer: Turn off your dryer. Press and hold the ‘Wrinkle Care’ and ‘Anti Bacterial’ buttons simultaneously, then press power to turn the unit on.
