COMBO UNIT – LONG DRYING TIME

LG Combo units operate slightly different from their stand alone counterparts. The wash cycle remains unchanged for the most part, but there are some differences with the drying process. Some areas that should help boost your drying performance are:

Water Taps

Inlet Hoses

Load Size

Dry Only

Drain Pump Filter

Inlet Filters

Water Taps

Water is needed in order for a combo model washer to perform the dry function. This is completely different from how a standard dryer would work. With a LG combo unit, cold water is used to condense the moisture in the air. If water is not supplied to the unit, the clothes will not be dried. The water taps should be fully open.

Inlet Hoses

Cold water is needed to condense moisture for the drying process to work. If hot water is supplied, the condensation efficiency becomes very low. Check the condition of your hoses. For some house, when they are built the cold water faucet is reversed with the hot water faucet. If you are not sure which one is hot or cold, remove the hoses from the tap side and run a small amount of water to test its temperature. Also, while checking the hoses, confirm that they are in good condition and that they are not bent or kinked.

Load Size

The capacity for drying is smaller that it is for washing. If you place too much clothing in one load when washing, reduce the load size for drying.

Dry Only

Most LG combo units will add a spin before the dry process will begin. However, if the load did not spin out well or you attempted to do a dry only and the results were not as good as expected, run a spin cycle before drying begins. This will ensure that the majority of the water has already been spun out the fabric before the drying process begins.

Drain Pump Filter

If the drain pump filter has not been cleaned recently, this can reduce the cold water supply. Check and clean the pump filter.

Inlet Filters

If the inlet filters are clogged, the cold water supply to the machine may be restricted. Combo units must have a cold water connection in order to effectively dry the clothing items. If the inlet filters are dirty or completely clogged, you may find this is hindering performance.
