UPDATE SOFTWARE USING THE LG OPTIMUS L9 P769

We are pleased to announce the software upgrade to P76920f for the LG Optimus L9 is now available. If upgrading from P76910g you will receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS upgrade, LG’s new UX features, updated preloads, and security patches.  If upgrading from P76920d you will receive updated preloads, and security patches.

Preparation

1. Fully charge the battery.

Use Backup by LG to backup all your files; for more information please click here.


Note:

Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process. The entire upgrade process varies depending on software package size and your internet connection speed.

Software Update

1. When the update is available, a system udpate icon  will display in the status bar.  Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel and tap the notification to view the available software update.

Note:

You may also be notified in a popup that a software update is available.

  • Install later - select this option to postpone the update. 
  • More Info - select this option to show Android System Update details. 
  • Install now - Select to begin the software update, your device will restart and begin the update process.
2. Tap Restart & install. Your phone will restart and begin the update process.
 

3. The device will restart and transition through Optimizing apps # of ##, Starting apps, Upgrading contact database, Upgrading media database, and Finishing boot.

Troubleshooting

If you have not been notified of an available software update, you can manually check if one is available.


1. From the Home Screen, tap Apps > Settings > About phone  > System updates.

2. Tap Check now to manually check for a new software update.
