Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process. The entire upgrade process varies depending on software package size and your internet connection speed.
|1.||When the update is available, a system udpate icon will display in the status bar. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel and tap the notification to view the available software update.|
You may also be notified in a popup that a software update is available.
|2.||Tap Restart & install. Your phone will restart and begin the update process.|
|3.||The device will restart and transition through Optimizing apps # of ##, Starting apps, Upgrading contact database, Upgrading media database, and Finishing boot.|
If you have not been notified of an available software update, you can manually check if one is available.
|1.||From the Home Screen, tap Apps > Settings > About phone > System updates.|
|2.||Tap Check now to manually check for a new software update.|
