B.B Hwang
Mr.B.B.Hwang is Chief Customer Officer (CCO), Executive Vice President of LG Electronics. He has been one of the top contributors to LG’s high-tech business and core technologies for more than three decades.
In 2010, as CCO he is in charge of Customer Relationship as newly established at corporate Headquarter. He takes initiatives to support and coordinate B2B transformation on the corporate level.
LG reorganized its business units, creating the Business Solutions Company to focus on B2B solutions in 2009. He established solutions business infrastructure and solution technology.
As President & CEO of LG Digital Media Company from 2005 to 2008, Mr. Hwang led the firm to achieve top global market share in three product categories, including data storage, where LG has held the top spot for 11 consecutive years.
The company also created numerous innovative products during Hwang’s tenure. Recent achievements include the world’s first dual format HD DVD and Blu-Ray player and the world’s first network Blu-ray player.
Mr. Hwang is a long-time LG veteran and held other leadership positions in the company prior to working in its Digital Media and Business Solutions Companies. In 2003, he was appointed Executive Vice President of the Telecommunication Equipment & Handset Company, which later became Mobile Communications Company.
There, he oversaw business development and then lead CDMA Business Unit and he achieved CDMA Handset Global No.1 market share. After that, he moved to become a head of European Division of LG Mobile Communication Company.
Prior to that, he worked in Central Research Lab and PC Business Unit over the previous 20 years.
He served as a head of the PC Business Unit from 1993 to 2002.
Mr.Hwang studied engineering at Seoul National University before joining LG Electronics in 1977. That same year he joined the GoldStar Central R&D Center as a research engineer. His entire career has been focused on creating innovative products, solutions and technologies, contributing directly to LG Electronics’ success.
