James (Jong-Eun) Kim is President & CEO of LG Electronics Europe and was appointed to this position in Jan 2004. In this role, he provides strategic direction for all LG Electronics activities in the European Market.

Prior to his appointment as President & CEO of LG Electronics Europe, Mr. Kim held a variety of executive positions within LG during his nearly 33-year career in the company, including President & CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Executive Vice President & CEO of LG Electronics Multimedia & Display Company and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LG Electronics.

Throughout his career at LG, Mr. Kim has made significant contributions to the growth and development of the company. As General Manager of the Audio Quality Control group in 1983, he was instrumental in the implementation of a sophisticated Total Quality Control (TQC) system. Mr. Kim later became General Manager of the overall TQC group. In 1989, he was promoted to Managing Director and began defining LG group’s overall business strategy.

By 1999, Mr. Kim had successfully helped LG Electronics Multimedia & Display Company turn a profit and evolve into one of the most competitive players in the industry. In 2000, he assumed yet another pivotal role as chief of the Mobile Communications Company.

As chief of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Mr. Kim has made an enormous contribution to the development of the entire Korean mobile phone industry.

Based on those performances, Mr. Kim is now playing a vital role as President & CEO of LG Electronics Europe, directing all the business in Europe. In 2004, the first year of his new post, LG Electronics recorded the remarkable growth rate of 70% year on year in the European Market.

Mr. Kim is married and has two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and traveling.
