Since January 2008, Kyoung Hoon Byun has become President and CEO of LG Electronics Central & South America. Until 2007, he was in charge of LG Electronics Central & South America, except in Brazil.
Mr. Byun has been a management expert in Sales and Marketing since he joinedLG Group in 1981. He has spent almost 20 years abroad out of his almost 30 years at LG.
After his first experience abroad in the London branch in 1985, he then went towork in Germany, Russia, China, and Panama. He is now working in Brazil as Head of LG Electronics Central & South America.
After he became an executive, since he had already worked in Russia and China, and now works in Brazil, we called him in as a BRICS management expert, which is a potential growth market.
He made LG a great success story in the Russian market while he was working in Moscow from 1997 until 2004, and stamped LG on the Russian map as a national company.
In China, he attempted to strengthen the business, changing the marketing strategy from a quantitative growth strategy to a qualitative growth strategy from 2005 to 2006.
Since 2007, he has been planning another success story in the Central & South American market, from his base in Brazil, based on his experience in potential growth markets, such as Russia and China.
He continually emphasizes working styles and attitudes such as these: The importance of teamwork and working together towards a common goal rather than focusing on the skills of each individual. He stresses that the Sales team should gain an insight into the Administration team's work and vice versa.
