Peter A. Stickler was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of LG Electronics effective June 8, 2009. His appointment is part of LG's globalization effort as he brings with him over 35 years of Human Resources (HR) career experience spanning a diverse range of industries. Throughout his career, Mr. Stickler has worked in automobile, emerging technologies and the commercial electronics industries. Along the way, he developed broad-based Human Resources leadership skills and a deep understanding of what is required to operate successfully on a global stage.

During his 27-year tenure at Ford Motor Company, Mr. Stickler held several senior HR positions including director of Organizational Capability and Vice President of Global HR/CHRO for Visteon Automotive Systems (then a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford with over 77,000 employees and $19 Bil. in revenues). He also served as HR Business Operations Director at Ford's North America Consumer Business Group (with over 100,000 employees and revenues of about $100 Bil.) and worked as an Employee Relations Director for Ford Japan when Ford invested in the Japanese market. This also provided an opportunity for him to live in Japan and travel extensively throughout Asia.

During his long career at Ford, Mr. Stickler's expertise centered on fostering values-based transformational leaders, developing competency-based talent growth systems/processes, and applying "B2E" concepts to deliver HR services that supported both employee and business needs. Through labor relations leadership roles at the plant, division and national levels in markets including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and South America, Mr. Stickler contributed to building constructive union-management relationships and operational success.

After leaving Ford, Mr. Stickler continued his career by transitioning to the emerging technologies arena. In 2003, he moved to Canada to join Ballard Power Systems Inc., a world leader in PEM Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology, as Vice President of Human Resources/CHRO and an Executive Team member. Ballard's business focus was on the commercialization of their technology for automotive, industrial equipment, backup power, and power co-generation applications. Mr. Stickler's contributions included leadership in developing employee capabilities for achieving strategic business plans, upgrading performance management processes, stimulating employee engagement, and redefining total reward systems.

In 2008, Mr. Stickler moved into the commercial electronics sector by joining AZ Electronic Materials as a Vice President of Global Human Resources/CHRO at a time when the privately-held supplier to the electronics industry was driving toward globalization of business leadership and operations.

Mr. Stickler is a citizen of the United States. He has a Master's degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from St. John's University. Mr. Stickler and his wife, Bev, are relocating to Seoul, South Korea. Their sons, Nick and Ben, both live in the USA.
