At the start of the 2005 season, LG signed a deal with Fulham Football Club, to become their official Mobile Handset and Consumer Electronics partner. Fulham is the oldest of London's premier clubs, with records dating back to games played on a park pitch in 1879. Just 17 years later, the first game was played at Fulham's current home, Craven Cottage. Probably more than any other club, Fulham has forged strong links with its footballing home, which adds to the unique family atmosphere that still exists today.
Fulham has long been renowned for discovering promising young talent that has gone on to win major honors elsewhere. It is the club's belief in grassroots football that sets it apart from its larger and perhaps more dominant premiership rivals.
In May 2007, LG developed its relationship with Fulham even further and signed a deal to become the club’s official team sponsor for the next three years. This deal, which comes into effect on July 1, 2007, and which will see players sporting the LG logo on their club shirts until 2010 is the most significant sponsorship agreement in the Club’s history.
For LG, this relationship represents a huge opportunity in terms of presence both on the shirts and the televised Premiership games, which are watched by a massive audience worldwide. The relationship will positively increase the profile of the brand and raise awareness of the company’s portfolio of products within the UK.
