Extended Producer Responsibility [EPR] System

LG Electronics is committed to the "creation of a resource-recycling society," a major component of the company's "sustainable development" policy that aims to create co-existence between economy and nature. LG Electronics collects waste electronic goods from consumers and has them assorted and broken down in the technologically advanced RC (Recycling Center).
After they have been broken down in an environmentally friendly manner, they are re-used as copper, aluminum, and plastic. LG Electronics has been an active supporter of the EPR system since it first came into being in 2003. The company has also assumed the role of chairing company for the Association of Electronics Environment (AEE: Chairman Young-Kee Kim), which was established to facilitate the effective recycling of waste electronic goods. The Association of Electronics Environment, which represents 47 companies in the electronics industry focuses on rational policies and systems as well as the establishment and improvement of the collection systems, all of which are based on trust among member companies and a close, cooperative relationship with recycling firms.
