What You Need to Know about Washing machine
The LG Washer/Dryer Combo does not need to be vented. This is because the LG Washer/Dryer Combos have a patented condensation drying system in which the hot air is condensed into liquid, and then pumped out via a discharge hose into a regular drain. This also means there is no humidity created in the area around the unit.
The most important thing to consider when choosing where to install your LG Washer/Dryer Combo is convenience. This flexible unit can be installed in kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, laundry rooms, or closets. Its versatility is astounding. With the elimination of humid air venting, your options rare unlimited—as long as you have access to plumbing, a drain, and a standard electrical receptacle, your combo can go anywhere.
The unique LG SteamDryer™ uses a real steam generator to give you enhanced drying performance, reduce odors and wrinkles, and virtually eliminate static cling. It also includes a host of features exclusive to the LG Steam line of laundry appliances:

LG Washer/Dryer Combos use the latest water- and energy-saving technology to meet the Energy Star standard. So, consumers who use an LG dishwasher will both reduce the carbon emissions of their household, and lower their monthly energy bills.
The LG Washer/Dryer unit is very energy efficient. Because it uses 50% less water, your hot water heater does not have to use as much energy. Also, the combo uses only 1.4 kilowatts per hour during the drying cycle—as opposed to 5 or 6 for a conventional dryer.
The LG Washer/Dryer unit uses about 12–15 gallons during the washing cycle, compared to 30 gallons per current, American-made front-loading washers—or 40 to 60 gallons per washing cycle per conventional, top-loading washers. The LG combo saves you water while cleaning better!
Design plays a critical role in harmonizing technology and human needs. At LG, we strive to make your life easier and more enjoyable by integrating our digital appliances into your lifestyle and home décor. Our design philosophy boils down to four basic elements: Concept, Style, Interface, and Finish. By perfecting these elements, each of our digital appliances achieves LG’s goal of “great design.”
LG has been delving deeply into design and research in this innovative technological era. Our design team in particular is focused on achieving the company's vision of making life easier—and more fun—through technology’s digital appliances. And, from a practical perspective, technology is becoming an increasingly important tool in our modern lives. A growing number of products arrive already integrated with "intelligent" microchips and/or equipped with networking options. This area, though still in its early stages, has great design potential—requiring our designers to put on their “inventing caps” to predict emerging needs, design new lifestyle concepts, and test out their designs on a demanding public.
This trend of designing products for the future was started by the LG Life Soft Research Lab, which was established about 20 years ago. There, researchers, designers, and trend scouts work to predict the future by examining and identifying consumer needs, observing the public's interest in products, and then developing design concepts and solutions based on what they’ve seen. This means, ultimately, that LG is always one step ahead of the game—always already working on products for the future. In this way, our research is focused not only on new products and technological opportunities, but also on understanding key customer and market trends.
You can see the four basic elements of LG’s design philosophy at work in our full range of washer/dryer combination units: Concept, Style, Interface, and Finish. • Concept: Our patented condensation drying system eliminates humidity and the need for your washer/dryer combo to be vented. The compact design with a large capacity allows you to do large loads and still fit the unit anywhere in your home. A host of other features have been carefully deliberated to meet the needs of your household. • Style: Style elements like compact designs, stainless steel trimming, and an array of designer colors artfully contribute to the overall aesthetic of your home. • Interface: We have continually perfected our washer/dryers’ simple control interfaces to make laundry an easier task than ever before. • Finish: From stainless steel finishes to smooth LED control panels, our finishes reflect an attention to detail that’s always put LG products a notch above the rest.
The innovative LG SteamWasher™ and SteamDryer™ Combo performs all of your laundry functions in one appliance—saving you space, water, energy, and time. Its 4.2 cu. ft. capacity is the largest of any front-loading washer/dryer combo on the market, a marvel matched only by its long-lasting stainless steel drum. LG’s SteamWasher/Dryer Combo Unit uses LG’s signature steam technology to give you enhanced cleaning and drying performance that exceeds standard combo units.
It’s surprisingly simple. Steam molecules are smaller, hotter, and more active. So steam gets between fibers to dissolve dirt, remove odors, and destroy allergens in less time—and with superior results because it reaches higher temperatures more quickly. Washing functions include: TrueSteam™ technology LG’s revolutionary TrueSteam™ technology uses a real steam generator to convert water into steam, which is fed into the top of the wash drum through a spray nozzle. Steam then penetrates the fabrics for enhanced cleaning performance, resulting in brighter whites and more vibrant colors.
SteamFresh™ freshens and deodorizes your clothes in just 20 minutes. Garments come out ready to wear, so you’ll be ready to go out. Watch this video to see how it works:

Direct DriveTM washing machines have a powerful and reliable motor that boasts minimised vibration and noise, and reduced energy consumption. Conventional washing machines with belts and pulleys tend to wear out faster due to vibration, and create unpleasant noise and power-loss due to friction.
With a Direct DriveTM motor, there are fewer moving parts. This means less vibration and noise, increased efficiency, and a decreased chance of breakdown or brush and belt replacement.
Direct DriveTM is state-of-the-art technology that integrates the washing machine’s motor, belt, and pulley into a single, quiet, and durable mechanism, attached directly to the drum.
A powerful and reliable motor delivers power directly to the drum.
A large capacity washing machine cuts down on the number of loads, while allowing you to wash larger items such as blankets or curtains. Also, with more space, your items will be less wrinkled.
With their wide, 30cm porthole and 180º swing doors, LG washing machine doors make it east to load and unload large items.
Once you’ve selected a programme and pressed the start button, the Intelligent Washing System detects the load size, selects the water temperature, and determines the optimum water level and cycle time, keeping water and energy consumption to a minimum.
LG washing machines are equipped with a circulating shower function called Shower Spray. A pump under the drum sprays water from the top during washing and rinsing cycles, to improve detergent dispersion.

LG is currently the only company offering its unique Direct DriveTM technology. In 2008, our innovative Steam Direct DriveTM washing machine was voted "Product of the Year" for "Excellence in Garment Care" by Get Connected. LG has some of the largest-capacity washing machines available, not to mention customised to fit each customer’s needs.
LG Steam Direct DriveTM washing machines are designed to make efficient use of water, and reduce energy consumption. They exceed the Energy Saving Trust®’s recommended standards for energy-efficient consumer products.
Steam Direct Drive™ washing machines have an extra-large capacity, letting you do more laundry in fewer loads. Combine that with steam technology that also reduces water and energy use, and you’re talking about a 51% reduction in electricity consumption, and a 44% reduction in water consumption, compared to standard washers.
Due to our ever-growing population, demands on our water resources have increased. Reduce your household’s water waste—without reducing your activities or relied-on services—by installing high-efficiency appliances that can cut indoor water use by about 30%. You’ll also see a substantial savings on your water and energy bills.
From the Energy Saving Trust® website:
“Did you know that switching to an Energy Saving Recommended washing machine could cut your energy consumption by up to a third compared to an old washing machine? It can also save you up to £11 a year on your electricity bills and 45 kilograms of CO2.”

One in three persons in the UK are affected by allergies at some point in their lifetime. The numbers are rising, yet few national resources are allocated to the diagnosis and treatment of this multi-organ disease. The British Allergy Foundation, operating under the charity name Allergy UK, has set a standard for products which restrict/reduce/remove allergens from the environment of the allergy sufferer, and for products which have significantly reduced allergen content.
Several LG Washing Machines have received the British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval for their allergen-reducing properties. Look for the logo beside each product. To learn more, visit the British Allergy Foundation’s website.
