Kicking off winter in style, the Freesports on 4 Freeze sponsored by LG brought together London's coolest people at a world class snow boarding and music festival. The event took place at London's Battersea Power Station from the 23 - 26 October 2008.
Freesports on 4 Freeze was an exhilarating show where the biggest names in snowboarding and music descended on the banks of the River Thames. The Freeze incorporated the LG FIS (International Ski Federation) World Cup where valuable qualifying points for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics were up for grabs. The event was also the only chance to see world class snowboarders such as LG sponsored UK champion rider, Dan Wakeham, take to the real snow slopes and show fans just how good they are.
In addition, the four day festival had a 10,000+ auditorium which featured a line-up of some of the UK's newest and coolest bands. Headline acts for the event included Cypress Hill, The Enemy, The Automatic, Igu & Hartly and Reverend and the Makers. Whilst the sports and music events were enough to keep visitors entertained, other attractions included a genuine ski village with shops lining the main resort, an Après Ski Bar and the Relentless Blizzard Bar.
