What you need to know about Microwave Ovens
LG microwave ovens are designed to operate on a standard 230V-240V household outlet. (They are also intended to be the only appliance on the circuit.) Our units are not designed for a circuit other than a 230V-240V circuit.
LG microwave ovens must be grounded! If an electrical short circuit occurs, grounding reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an escape-wire for the electrical current. Our microwaves are equipped with a cord that includes a grounded wire and grounded plug. Be sure to insert the plug into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
If you do not understand these instructions, or if you’re wondering whether your appliance is properly grounded, ask a qualified electrician; using a grounding plug improperly can put you at risk for electric shock.

Install the appliance as described in the user manual.
- Particularly with build-in solutions, be aware of the minimal surrounding distances for allowing a proper airflow.
When not in use, do not use the appliance for storage purposes: - Do not leave paper products, cooking utensils or food in the oven when not in use.
- Do not store any materials, other than manufacturer’s recommended accessories, in the microwave oven when not in use.
As an additional precaution, unplug the appliance when not in use.
Unplugging an electronic appliance will also save on your energy usage and costs, as many electronic appliances may use energy even when not in use.
