How to use Google Find my Phone and Device Reset

Note: Some Buttons, Settings, Menus, or Icons may differ from that of your device depending on your software version and wireless service provider.

  1. Open the App

    Open the Find My Phone app or download it from the Google Play store and select the menu button in upper left, then select Trash. If you do not have access to a mobile device, go to https://myaccount.google.com/find-your-phone and log in to use.

  2. Log In

    Log in using the same Google account that was setup on the lost device.

  3. Select Your Device

    From the top of the screen, select the lost device to see last known location and options for recovery/device reset(erase).

    Note: Selecting Erase will delete all information from your device and can only be completed if your device is on and has an active data connection.

  • To use Find my Device, your device must be:

    • Powered on.

    • Signed in to a Google Account.

    • Connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi.

    • Location turned on.

    • Find My Device turned on.

    1. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power keys simultaneously until the device reboots. Typically this will take 11-12 seconds.

    2. Release the keys when you see the LG bootup logo

  • Due to a recent update, your device may be suffering from random resets. Use the following steps as a temporary solution until the issue has been resolved.

    1. Power off the device and remove the SIM card.

    2. Power on the device.

    3. Turn off Wi-Fi (Apps > Settings > Wi-Fi) or place the device into Airplane Mode (press and hold the Power button > select Airplane Mode).

    4. From the Home screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Accounts > (may be found under General Tab) and select your Google account.

    5. Tap the Menu button, then select Remove account (repeat for any additional Google accounts).

    6. Return to Settings  , then select Apps > (may be found under General Tab).

    7. Swipe right to left to the All category, then select Google Services Framework.

    8. Select Clear Data.

    9. Return to the All category of Apps, then select Google Play Services.

    10. Tap Uninstall Updates.

    11. Power off the device, insert the SIM card, then power on.
