LG believes that giving back to the community can bring people together across cultures and continents. Our goal is to build trust with consumers and communities, something that is only possible through being a responsible and caring corporate citizen.LG partners with global and local stakeholders, including employees, customers, shareholders, local communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and non-profit organizations (NPOs). LG sponsors, supports, and volunteers in programs that enhance social welfare, educational, and cultural opportunities.
Moving forward, LG will focus on relieving poverty and conducting environmentally responsible activities. We do these things wherever we conduct business around the globe, helping make the world a better place.
Overview
LG Electronics contributes tirelessly to social contribution activities in order to create a more beautiful world. Shop-floor employees and management staff alike donate funds and participate in volunteer work, offering assistance to those living in poverty-stricken areas of the world.
Environmental Sustainability Programs
To raise awareness about environmental pollution and climate change there are plans to sponsor an award (Champions of the Earth) and hold a conference on global environment with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Global Famine Alleviation
LG Electronics expanded its international support activities through the World Food Programme (WFP) in Kenya and Ethiopia by providing free meals at schools and medical service support to hospitals.
LG with You Program - School Supplies Distribution
LG Electronics, led by its managing director Seung Chul Lee and supported by its employees and concerned local government officials, trooped to selected flood-affected schools to give their early Christmas gifts. As part of its “LG With You” corporate social responsibility program, LG shared a set of school supplies to a total of 2,100 pupils.
