Water filters have come a long way in reducing the harmful contaminants found in drinking water, also making great strides in the way they accomplish the task. Study shows that water consumption is on the rise, and people are drinking more bottled water everyday. Bottled water often contains more bacteria and impurities than tap water, because the EPA regulates municipal water systems more stringently than the FDA regulates bottled water.
