FILIPINOS SPEAK OUT VIEWS ON BEING FREE

Manila, May 12, 2010 – A life without limits, opportunity to see things beyond the horizon, and freedom to see the world as it is meant to be.

These are the common views of close to 2,500 Filipinos who answered their own concept of “Borderless” as they culminate the LG LIVE BORDERLESS™ “Flight of Freedom” online contest.

“The Flight of Freedom online contest allows us to get a glimpse of the Philippine market’s perception of what it means to live borderless, in harmony with LG’s latest offerings,” says Raymond Hernandez, Corporate Marketing Head of LG Electronics Philippines. “This is just a sneak peek into what LG has in store for our consumers as we will soon delve into a new world of home entertainment experiences. Your exciting journey to LIVE BORDERLESS™ with LG has just begun.”

Out of 2,346 participants, 20% of the respondents answered with the word “limitless”, followed by 18%, who chose to write with regard to “freedom”. There were other frequent responses of the contestants such as “infinity, borderless, seamless and beyond possibilities”.

Cindy Ong of Tondo, Manila defines borderless as “without limits... anything is possible”. The possibility of winning happened to her as she was proclaimed the winner of the Flight of Freedom online contest. The fun interactive game that caught the frenzy of thousands online as it garnered attention on the massive social networking site, Facebook.

“We, at LG believe that the results of the Flight of Freedom campaign speak volumes about the present mindset of the Filipino population who are on the cusp of change.” adds Hernandez. “This reminds us of the infinite possibilities of a better tomorrow as we look onward to the results of the historic 2010 National Elections.”
