LG BEGINS GLOBAL HUNT FOR LIVE BORDERLESS™ EXPERIENCE

MANILA, Feb. 09, 2010 -- LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, wants to find out what people consider to be the ultimate journey on Earth. The owner of the idea that the public and a panel of judges agrees is most consistent with the spirit of LG’s LIVE BORDERLESS™ campaign will win business class tickets around-the-world and USD100,000 to spend on their 80-day odyssey.

 

The campaign marks the launch of LG’s latest design concept, LIVE BORDERLESS™, developed to describe a range of flat screen LCD TVs that utilize the most advanced technology to reduce the surround bezel resulting in an edge-to-edge sheet of glass enhancing the TV’s sleek attributes. The new technology marks a radical departure from traditional LCD panel screen design.

 

A dedicated website -- www.liveborderless.net -- has been established to facilitate easy participation in the competition. The online site asks participants to describe what they would do if they were recipients of around-the-world tickets and USD100,000. Entries can be made by either uploading a one minute video or by writing an essay up to 300 words.

LG has already received over 15,000 submissions to date with original ideas coming in from countries all over the world. The campaign’s viral break-out video entitled Dramatic Chipmunk is also ranking highly on YouTube and has generated more than 925,000 views.

 

Entries for LIVE BORDERLESS™ experience can be made until the end of February. The top six ideas will then be assessed by LG’s judging panel who will consider which entrant best epitomises the LIVE BORDERLESS™ concept. The selected winner will start the ultimate journey at the beginning of April 2010.
