LG TV Smartphone Remote Application

Smartphones and Tablets have the capability of controlling LG TVs with a downloaded application. This application will be available from either the Apple App Store or the Google Playstore.

Apple iOS

The Apple iOS operating system resident on iPhones and iPads, allows the cell phone or tablet to control the functions of the LG TV remotely, after the LG TV Remote application is downloaded.

  1. On the Apple device select the App Store icon.

  2. Use the Search function to locate LG TV Remote.

  3. Select the LG TV Remote application (for 2011 TV's select the 2011 version).

  4. Select Install (you may have to enter your Apple ID password).

  5. When the application has installed select OPEN.

  6. When the application opens, it will scan for available TV's. Select the TV that is to be controlled.

  7. After the TV is selected there will be a Pairing Key displayed on the lower right of the TV screen. Enter this Pairing Key into the window on the Apple device, then select OK.

  8. A window will open with Terms of Use of LG TV Remotes, select Accept to continue.

  9. When the Apple device connects to the TV, you will have the opportunity to set the connected TV as the default TV.

  10. When the application has loaded its control panel, the TV can controlled by the Apple device. Various control options will be available on the Apple device screen. The Apple device screen can be swiped sideways to reveal an alternate screen named Mini Home. The images below are for the iPhone, the iPad images are shown separately.

  11. The screen can also be swiped upwards to reveal a touch sensitive pad. This pad is to allow finger tip control of the cursor on the TV similar to using the Magic Motion controller. Use the X button to return to the control panel. The silver vertical bar at the side of the Apple device display is for horizontal scrolling of the TV screen.

    The Touch Pad for the iPhone and iPad are identical.

Android OS

The Android OS operating system resident on Smartphones and Tablets, allows the Smartphone or Tablet to control the functions of the LG TV remotely, after the LG TV Remote application is downloaded.

  1. On the Smartphone or Tablet device select the Google Playstore icon.

  2. Use the Search function to locate LG TV Remote.

  3. Select Install.

  4. When the application has installed select OPEN.

  5. Select whether the application has been installed on a Smartphone or a Tablet.

  6. When the application opens, select Device Scan for available TV's. Select the TV that is to be controlled.

  7. After the TV is selected there will be a Pairing Key displayed on the lower right of the TV screen. Enter this Pairing Key into the window on the Android device, then select OK.
