Featuring the Revolutionary Door-in-Door™ and Proprietary Inverter Linear Compressor, LG’s Latest Fridges Deliver Enhanced Performance
KOTA KINABALU, Feb. 4, 2015 — LG Electronics (LG) is showing off its latest refrigerator models at the 2015 LG InnoFest (Innovation Festival) held in Malaysia from February 4 to 5. The event will provide LG’s business partners and media from all across Asia with a great opportunity to see the company’s advanced consumer-centric products. Equipped with the revolutionary Double Door-in-Door™ feature and the Inverter Linear Compressor, LG’s refrigerators take energy efficiency and convenience to a whole new level.
Cutting-edge Double Door-in-Door™
LG’s new four door refrigerator has two independent Door-in-Door™ compartments, giving you the ultimate in convenience — better organization and easy access — while maximizing conservation of cold air. The right Door-in-Door™ is accessible from the outside with a simple push of a button and is also accessible from the inside, making it easy to load with often-used items like snacks, drinks, lunches and more. The left Door-in-Door™ provides additional easy access storage space via a trigger on the bottom of the door. This new model is expected to be ENERGY STAR® certified. By utilizing LG’s innovative Door-in-Door™ feature without opening the entire refrigerator, cold air loss is reduced by up to 47.3 percent and food stays fresher for longer.1
Inverter Linear Compressor for Greater Energy Savings and Low Noise Level
By generating less internal friction and offering more precise cooling control, LG’s proprietary Inverter Linear Compressor helps ensure lower energy consumption and lower noise levels. LG’s refrigerator equipped with the Inverter Linear Compressor has been tested to save more energy by up to 32 percent than one equipped with a conventional compressor.2 Further to this, thanks to lower friction points and its simple mechanism, noise levels are reduced by up to 25 percent and durability is improved.3 LG expects Asian consumers to be particularly interested in the company’s efficiency achievements given the recent surge in electricity prices across the continent. The 10-year warranty on the Inverter Linear Compressor is also compelling.
Smarter Storage in a Bigger Space for Maximum Flexibility
Thanks to High Density Insulation technology, the thinner but powerful insulation wall allows LG’s new four-door refrigerator to boast a cavernous internal capacity. The central partition typically found in two door refrigerators has also been done away with, allowing the refrigerator to create even more usable storage space for food and beverages.
Intelligent Air Management to Keep Foods Fresher
LG’s new generation Hygiene Fresh+™ air purification system utilizes multi-layer filters and an exclusive fan to help remove bacteria, virus, spores and odors from the fridge’s interior. This system uses a highly effective 5-step process which includes UV LED, eliminating 99.999 percent of harmful bacteria commonly found inside refrigerators. Moreover, the new upgraded Hygiene Fresh+™ offers even more convenience, as users do not need to change or replace any filters. LG’s Hygiene Fresh+™ technology has been tested by Intertek, a worldwide product safety and quality assurance testing body.
Smart Technology for Convenient Reliability
A number of LG’s refrigerators are also equipped with the company’s innovative Smart Diagnosis™ feature. This troubleshooting tool helps customer service representatives quickly and efficiently troubleshoot mechanical issues, limiting costly and inconvenient service visits.
Outstanding Design, Ideal for Any Kitchen Environment
Expertly crafted, the new four door refrigerator also features contour processed, tempered glass that has been applied over curved glass. Black patterned finishing provides a stylish design that is both aesthetically pleasing and leaves the outside fingerprint and smudge resistant so it always looks its best. The refrigerator is also equipped with Adjustable Moving Baskets which allow users to adjust the height of the internal compartments to accommodate large or odd-shaped bottles.
“We’re delighted to be introducing our latest fridges for the Asian market at InnoFest 2015,” said Seong-jin Jo, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Packed with cutting-edge technologies and features including the innovative double Door-in-Door™ refrigerator, LG’s outstanding refrigerators make life in the kitchen so much better. LG’s commitment to creating better homes through innovative, convenient products is on clear display at this year’s InnoFest.”

1 Based on testing conducted by Intertek for models SX5534WB, GR-S632GLRC and LFX3194ST/02. According to LG’s internal test method, measurements are taken for the percentage reduction in the exchange rate of air when opening the Door-in-Door™ compartment compared to the main fridge door for 10 seconds. Results may vary by models and the duration of time the door remains open.
2 Based on VDE testing comparing the annual energy consumption of LGE model GBB530NSCXE (with Inverter Linear Compressor) and LGE model GBB530NSQWB (with Recipro Compressor), in accordance with ISO 15502 standards. The energy reduction is a resultof the compressor-type and other design differences.
3 Based on VDE testing comparing the peak SPL at compressor start-up of LGE model GBB530NSCXE (with Inverter Linear Compressor) and LGE model GBB530NSQWB (with Recipro Compressor), in accordance with internal testing methodology. The noise reduction is a result of the compressor-type and other design differences.
