As the Executive Vice President of Chief Relations Officer, Young-kee Kim is responsible for diverse areas in LG Electronics such as Industry Relations, Public Relations, Governement Relations, Organization Culture, Legal and Corporate Business Support.

He has been in his current position since January 2007 and one of his key achievements during this time was to develop a cooperative Industrial Relations model of Korea region which is a role model of Indusrial Relations in electronics industry and apply and disseminate this model in global scale to LG Electronics in other countries.

From early 2000 to July 2008, Young-kee Kim has also served as LG Electronics' Chief Human Resource Officer (CHO). In that time he has implemented human resources policies and systems that have helped LG become a more global and achievement-oriented organization.

This required gradual and careful assimilation of industry best practices into LG's corporate culture and Mr. Kim's success in this area lies in part with his long tenure at LG, where he began working almost 30 years ago.

Always at the cutting edge of the latest human resources practices, Mr. Kim has created an extensive network of HR professionals at LG offices around the world. These LG employees, who reported directly to Mr. Kim, are now responsible for ensuring that all of LG's offices have the same inspired drive for excellence that exists at the company's headquarters.

In 1979, Mr. Kim began his time at LG starting in the Labor Relations division of LG Chemical Ltd. In this role, Mr. Kim learned the importance of workplace unity, a lesson that would take him and LG to far greater success. In his current role, Mr. Kim has been able to reach across divides to help foster an era of harmony between unions and LG Electronics management, allowing the company to focus on achieving shared goals, create better products and deliver even greater value to customers.

Mr. Kim has held a number of positions with LG throughout his long career. In 1983 he joined the LG Chairman's Office as a member of the Personnel Team and later rose to become the head of that department. He has also served as head of LG's Leadership Development Team and as Senior Vice President of Human Resources, a role in which he directly reported to the LG Group chairman.

For his dedication to human resources, Mr. Kim received the Korean government's Order of Industrial Service Merit in 2004. Mr. Kim also wrote a thesis based in his experience, entitled Employee Relations at a Large South Korean Firm: The LG Group. Also, hoping to further develop the field of HR in Korean Companies, he has translated a book titled "Roadmap to strategic HR" authored by Ralph Christensen into Korean which was published in 2009 by Readlead Publishing.

Mr. Kim holds a Master's degree in HR from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University, where he received the Outstanding Global Leader Award. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Sogang University in Seoul.

Since 2007, Mr. Kim has served as the Chairperson of the Panel Mr. Lee was a professor of Judges in Hewitt Best Employers in Korea and is currently a member of the same. At the present, he is a Global Management Council member of Brigham Young University and is also a member of the National Labor Relations Commission in Korea. He is also serving as the Chairman of the Association of Electronics Environment in Seoul, Korea. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
