What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique design, versatile utility I believe a great bluetooth headset is all about versatile utility and good implementation. The infinim does well. Aesthetics. The unique ‘on-neck horse-shoe’ design is inconspicuous sits neatly and discreetly around the neck line. Unlike the the G4 nobody has asked ‘what is that?’, and I mean that I a good way. And if you are wearing a open collar top it’s almost completely hidden. Comfort. I simply forget that I’m wearing it, its that light. In fact there was a time when I was looking for it and found it looking in the mirror! There is some kind of small rubbery section about and inch behind the neck that i very flexible and allows one to easily and comfortably wear or remove the device from the neck. There is no horizontal clamping force at all. All the edges are rounded and so there are no pressure points to possibly cause any discomfort. Utility. So at either end of the ‘horse shoe’ as it were are the two main function buttons most commonly used. The call answer button on the left and the play/pause button on the right. These are the only buttons on the top surface, about the size of a finger tip with a smooth concave recession and pleasantly tactile depress/click. The design and positioning meant I was never left feeling around the neck band to answer a call or pause a song. The volume rocker and tracker switcher are placed on either side of the outside edges, which again are intuitively placed and although a littler harder to find due to their size never gave me any real trouble. Now the greatest trick this unique device pulls off is that the earbuds retract into the device. It is really is revolutionary. You simply grab both ear bud tips, located at either end of the neck band (about where the collar bones are), with each hand and pull them lightly until they are fully extended, at which you should easily be able to put the in your ears with a little slack on the line to spare. They retract independently too so it’s not problem if you only want to use one side. To retract them you simply press two buttons just on the inside of band where the tips are. Again these buttons are intuitively placed and I never had a problem locating them. The retracting mechanism is smooth, quick and has never gotten stuck. When the buds are fully retracted there are no visible wires anywhere so it looks tidy, but most importantly the wires won’t catch on anything and the tips are safely tucked away. Now as someone who works outside and who constantly uses his arms with various tools and equipment, I find such clipless, wire-free designs often fall off, but because the neck band is rigid (other than the small flexible section at the back) it always stays put, not even coming a little loose. This is due to the weight being distributed at the ends of the band in the front, basically using gravity to keep everything in place. Connectivity. In 6 weeks of constant use I have never had a random disconnect or dropout. You have to leave the room from the connected device and even then it sometimes stays connected. Connection is made almost instantly when requested from any device. Sound quality. Often a weakness of stereo bluetooth headsets. Here I would say the Infinim’s performance is adequate. Call quality is very clear and voices are naturally represented, not being to sharp or soft. This makes when one listens to music as the sound signature of this headset tends to emphasize the vocal range. I would say it lends to the mid/bass end of the spectrum with treble being a little on the weak side, for example, violins/strings sound soft and a little distant. Other hand drum/bass has a reasonable punch to it without becoming distorted, muddy and drowning the mids out. As with all bluetooth headsets it introduces some floor noise (a faint hiss) but this I not really noticeable unless listening to quiet instrumentals. Again this will probably not be someones primary device for listening to music, but does a great job for when one is on the go. And this comes from someone who owns some very high end audio equipment. Battery. I’ve only charged it twice in 6 weeks of moderate use. I don’t know exactly what the average time is on constant playback but even if I had to charge it once a week it would be impressive. Outstanding. Concerns. The wires. They are thin! Maybe about 2mm in diameter. Although they are safely tucked away when retracted, I wouldn’t be surprise if they were easily damaged if one snagged them on anything whilst the ear buds were extended. It’s hard to say how likely this would be to happen, but it’s certainly worth baring in mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Innovative headset for those on the move The LG Tone Infinim is different. It won’t take you more than a glance to figure that out. While this is a headphone, you wear it around the neck. It might make you look like someone out of the next Star Wars movie, but this is innovation that works. Here is why: Design The Tone Infinim — I have no idea why it is called so — is basically a neckband that holds with itself a pair of retractable earphones. So with the band around your neck, you can pull out the ear plugs to listen to music or make calls. This is a Bluetooth headset and does not even offer a wired connection offer. Plus, this headset is peppered with buttons, more than in any headphone I have seen before. So on the left is a jog dial that lets you adjust volume and the call button. The right side has the pause/play button and another jog dial to skip songs. There are two buttons on both sides to retract the earphones. Plus, there is the on/off button that also activates the Bluetooth. It will take a week for you to be able to figure out that is where. Remember this is around your neck and you are completely blinded. I kept using the selfie camera on my phone to figure out what is where. Performance The Tone Infinim is slightly gimmicky, that is a good reason for most manufacturers to compromise on the core performance, in this case, the music. And that is exactly what LG has not done. This is really good headset when it comes to sheer audio quality. The Harman Kardon Signature Sound that drives this gadget guarantees premium audio quality. Listen to any kind of music and you will you realise that the earphone has perfect acoustics that keeps the music on the top of your mind and not the intricacies of the gadget around your neck. Plus, the fact that you can control your music from the device itself, without reaching out for your phone, is a great advantage for those who will use this while jogging or during walks. The device comes with a good number of voice prompts, like telling you the battery status when you are switching on for the first time. The call quality is also very good, even though the neck band which houses the microphone is not really close to your mouth. However, the vibrating call alert can be a bit of irritating as this is happening around your neck. The other good thing is the battery, which lasts over a week with regular use. In fact in the ten days I had the review device, I did not charge it even once. The standby is also good, even when you forget to switch off the headset. Verdict Though a bit expensive, the LG Tone Infinim is a really innovative, but practical headset for those on the move. It is a new form factor and hence will get some time to get used to, but that is a minor irritant when you weigh it against the overall convenience the device brings to your neck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Convenient Headset! I was sent this as part of a campaign I was part of (TheInsiders). At first I didn't even know what it was, but wow it really made me wish I knew about these type of products much earlier. I've always liked wireless headphones for the very reason it removes the issue of tangling wires, etc. However, I've found them a bit too big and too eye-catching. If you're in the same boat as me so far, you'll love these! They're subtle, convenient and comfortable to wear. Say goodbye to hassling over wires. Audio Quality was good, not EXCELLENT - the bass wasn't quite there but it wasn't noticeable. Quality over phone calls is crystal clear. Amazing features like controlling volume through a small analog. Earlier I stated they was subtle, but when they're not and people notice them, you're bound to get a few compliments. They look elegant and classy. To summarise, and more: Pros -Convenient -Subtle -Aesthetically Pleasing -Easy to Setup -Good Call Quality Cons -Audio Quality not 100% -Can wobble around from running, etc. Overall - Recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Headset This was my first wireless headset so I had reservations. I'm happy to say i've not experienced any problems so far. I was worried about the battery life but you can easily get a full day of heavy use. The headphones are comfortable to wear in the gym and you are guaranteed to never miss a call! Bluetooth pairing with my phone was easily done and i've had no problems with signal dropping out when moving into other rooms etc. They are enabled for aptx as well so audio quality when listening to music is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality I was sent this headphone as part of the LG Insiders campaign alongside the LG G4. This headset is great. The audio quality for both voice and audio (music, podcasts etc) is excellent, and they can go pretty loud too whilst doing a good job of blocking out other noise. The battery gets me through a full day of work before needing to be recharged, and its comfy to wear as it sits on your shoulders.
