Nice and compact feature packed small screen
Bought this screen as a multi purpose unit for use in upstairs bedroom and when in our caravan which has very limited space, this was the biggest screen I could get in, the small bezels meaning I could have a 27” instead of a 24”, couldn’t be happier, picture quality is pretty good from HD sources like PS3, the Freeview HD picture quality is not on a level of my downstairs ES7000 from Samsung but is very good considering its price differential.
The smart TV side of things with the past few updates is very good, it is responsive, quicker than the downstairs TV actually and has some good services like Netflix, NowTV, lovefilm, Blinkbox and Iplayer, it could do with a couple more UK catch TV up services, some that aren’t there will actually play through it’s web browser though which is well featured and again has decent performance. I love the fact the Time machine feature kicks in as soon as the TV is switched on, more convenient than my Samsung which you have to initiate with a button press, this feature requires a USB hard drive plugged into the rear and opens up the digital tv recording features which work well, the integrated wifi works well and the TV picks up media from home servers, screen mirroring from my Xperia Z phone works well too, saves needing cables etc.
It appears to have a satellite connection I have not used this, I wouldn’t imagine it is freesat compatible as there are no stickers that say so but could prove useful when I tour Europe and might be handy if you have an unused satellite feed.
Only downside is that it’s not 3D, the model up from this the 27MT93V has 3D and I would of bought that instead but it is not wall mountable so no good for my desk arm or wall mount, real shame it would of been a nice feature to have for PS3 and the only feature this screen lacks.
