A touchscreen phone that has never been simpler to use

Berkshire, September 30, 2009 - LG Electronics a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, today announces the LG GD510, also known as “Pop”, offering state-of-the-art yet easy to use features in a sleek 3-inch full touchscreen device. The handset will be available in the UK in November at Carphone Warehouse.

With a range of multimedia features such as MP3 player, the LG GD510 plays music and movies in several file formats. The easy-to-use browser brings all the essential mobile content to the device’s large 3-inch screen and a 3-megapixel camera captures high quality photos and videos.

Furthermore, the style of the handset is kept simple, encased in brushed aluminum casing and with the wide high resolution (WQVGA) touchscreen extending almost to the edges of the handset with only a narrow 4.8 mm border. Completing the device’s sleek design, a single button is used on the interface which functions as the menu, end and cancel keys. A slim strip of light around the button shines either green or red indicating the handset’s function.

“There is a community of users looking for affordable touchscreen phones that LG want to provide for.” says Jeremy Newing, head of marketing, LG Mobile UK and Ireland, “The LG GD510 delivers all the fundamentals in communication, multimedia and entertainment and comes in a compact stylish device.“

Jeremy continues, “The LG GD510 is a new addition to LG’s touchscreen portfolio following successful handsets such as the LG Cookie (KP500), selling more than 7 million units worldwide since its launch earlier this year. With the LG GD510, LG is applying its tried and tested strategy to another new model – this time, a more compact full touchscreen handset with simple and essential features.”
