Compress the mess with LG's first upright vacuum cleaner
Launch of the world's first Upright Compressor for the UK market
UK, 01 April, 2009 - LG Electronics today announces the UK launch of the world's first bagless upright vacuum cleaner to include its unique Dirt Compression technology. Based on the smart technology and stylish designs of the successful LG Compressor Plus cylinder range, the Upright Compressor is a direct response to consumer research which shows that 41% of UK households prefer to own upright bagless vacuum cleaners to cylinders*.
The Upright Compressor uses LG's patented Dirt Compression technology and integrated HEPA filter, which ensures that 99.5% of all particles are collected. The dirt is then compacted for easy disposal making for a much more hygienic home and ensuring accreditation by The British Allergy Foundation.
A 'Pet-handy' tool accompanies the Upright Compressor specifically designed to pick-up animal hair and particles from carpet. Incorporating a dual air flow and powerful brush the accessory reduces the likelihood of clogging enabling the vacuum to continue working at its optimum.
The controls for the vacuum cleaner are literally at consumers' fingertips, positioned on the handle making it very simple to switch between different surfaces. The handle itself is fully adjustable to the user's needs; it can be fully collapsed transforming the device to just 80cm in height making it a shape better suited to storing in a cupboard or under the stairs.
"Upright vacuum cleaners are incredibly popular in the UK and we wanted to translate the success of the Compressor Plus into a format that suits the UK market. From research we know that consumers often find cylinder products difficult and manoeuvre to store, a problem we have solved with the Upright Compressor," explains Kate Seabrook, Consumer Marketing Manager for LG Home Appliances, "Whether it is ways to reduce time spent cleaning, LG is dedicated to finding simple solutions that make consumers' lives easier."
