LG showcases a perfect blend of style and technology at IFA 2009

LG’s latest range of innovative and stunning monitors highlights the company’s leadership in design and performance

Berlin, Germany, 3 September, 2009 - LG Electronics, a leading provider of business solutions, will kick off the IFA show in Berlin today by launching two stylish displays, as well as a revolutionary multi-computing solution.

New displays to debut at IFA

LG unveils two new screens for the first time at IFA 2009; the W63 gaming monitor and the W30 monitor. Both screens boast a sleek and modern appearance, and are designed and equipped to deliver the best possible user experience for games, movies and pictures.

LG W2363V

LG’s 23” widescreen Full HD W2363V monitor is specifically designed to offer a large range of features including a 2ms response time to bring the ultimate gaming W63_Basic_12.jpgexperience to home users. The screen also boasts LG’s proprietary Thru Mode technology, a new high-tech feature that eliminates image processing to enable players to see action as it occurs. LG has added an eye-catching feature called Tru Light that offers an ambient light triggered by in-game audio, which provides additional atmosphere and increases tension. Additionally, the monitor includes SRS TruSurround HD which is designed to eliminate volume spikes often present in games and video, offering an enhanced listening experience.

LG W30

Measuring just 37mm at its thickest point, the slim LG W30 is designed to add a splash of colour, enabling users to personalise their desktop. The W30 is available in a wide range of colours: Oreo Black, Jelly Pink, Blueberry Purple, Applemint Green, and Hawaiian Blue. Along with the colour range, the monitor features a glossy frame and two tone bars, which customises the look even further. The monitor provides technical features to enhance the picture quality and deliver clear, dynamic images.

Eco-friendly, convenient and professional displays

LG is continuously making strides to help reduce energy consumption in its products and has developed technology to reduce power consumption by 50 percent compared to conventional monitors. An enhanced prism sheet enables LG to reduce the number of backlight lamps while still maintaining clear, bright images in its range of non-LED monitors.

Amongst the monitors that feature LED backlighting is the W86L:

LG W86L

Thanks to LG’s advanced LED backlighting, the LG W86L monitor boasts an incredibly slim profile of just 20.5mm, making it one-third slimmer and lighter than conventional CCFL-backlit monitors. This ultra-slim and stylish monitor not only brings a premium look to any desktop, but also reduces power consumption by up to 42 percent. LG’s technology delivers smart features including a 2,000,000:1 DigItal Fine Contrast ratio (DFC) and a 2ms response time to provide state-of-the-art picture quality.

LG will also showcase the M27D, a combined monitor and TV unit, at IFA this year.

LG M62D

The LG M62D is a combined monitor and TV unit, so users can enjoy HDTV, Blu-ray movies and games on a single device. The M62D connects to a wide range of media sources and includes HDMI, DVI-D, D-sub, and component and composite connectors. The monitor TV boasts a modern and glossy look to seamlessly blend with any décor. It also includes a range of features to provide the best possible picture, including Auto Bright, which automatically adjusts the brightness level on-screen according to ambient light levels.

LG Network Monitors provide a highly efficient multi-computing system

LG’s Business Solutions booth includes a special zone to demonstrate its range of Network Monitors.

LG N1941W

The LG N1941W Network Monitor is a multi-computing solution designed to reduce the cost of deploying and maintaining PCs by enabling up to 11 users to share a single device. The N1941W not only offers significant cost savings but also consumes less power compared to standard PCs. Setup for a series of monitors is much simpler than a traditional network, which also ensures a reduction in time spent on repairs, patches, updates and software installation. By enabling multiple users to efficiently share a single PC, the system is able to reduce upgrade costs by at least 60 percent and maintenance costs by 70 percent or more.
