The fastest-selling LG touchphone ever passes sales milestone in 13 months

Berkshire, UK, Tuesday 8^th December 2009 - LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, today announces that the massively popular LG Cookie (LG KP500) touchphone has shipped more than 10-million units since its launch in November 2008. The Cookie is LG’s fifth phone to achieve this impressive milestone following the LG Chocolate, LG Shine, LG KP100 and LG KG270. The Cookie reached the mark in a mere 13 months, making it the fastest-selling full touchphone in LG’s history.

The phone has sold at a rate of over one million units every month this year and LG is expecting demand to increase approaching the holidays.

The affordable Cookie packs a range of features usually found only in premium-priced full touchphones including an intuitive and easy-to-use user interface, support for widgets, shortcut keys and a 3.0 megapixel camera.

Following the success of LG’s touchscreen handsets LG is applying its tried and tested strategy to another new model the LG GD510 Pop – this time, a more compact full touchscreen handset with simple and essential features, available at an affordable price of £99.95 at Carphone Warehouse.
