LG is dedicated to saving energy and designing and delivering energy-efficient products and services. LG is also an ENERGY STAR partner, and is committed to the programme’s aim of energy efficiency and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Working towards global green policies, "Life's Green 2020" states LG’s mission to decrease greenhouse gases emitted both in the production and over the lifetime of its products. Our Eco-Design strategy aims to reduce the environmental impact of product development, production and distribution as well as enhancing the efficiency of resources, recycling and management of hazardous materials.

ENERGY-SAVING TVS

Our environmentally-friendly TVs use around 40% less energy than standard TVs, which helps both the environment and your electricity bill. Most LG flat-panel HDTVs are ENERGY STAR certified.

A number of LG TVs have been awarded the EU Ecolabel, an award which helps consumers identify products and services which have a reduced environmental impact, including reduced CO2 emissions, energy efficiency and recyclability. In June 2011, two LG TVs became the first TV products released and sold in the European market to receive the Carbon Trust’s “Carbon Reduction Label”.

LG TVs with Class A Energy star ratings, such as the cutting edge LG 84LM960V, the world’s first 84" ultra HD TV, has Smart Energy Saving technology that allows you to reduce power consumption by controlling the brightness of the screen. Additionally, the Screen-Off function lets you listen to music from the TV whilst the screen is switched off, so that your TV is always saving energy.

LG TVs featuring the revolutionary Intelligent Sensor automatically adjust the brightness, contrast, white balance and colour of the screen, based on the room’s ambient light

ECO-FRIENDLY LIGHTING

LG has a wide range of energy-saving light bulbs for both indoors and outdoors to suit all your lighting needs. LED lights use less energy than conventional light bulbs and our energy-efficient bulbs can save a significant amount on your energy bill compared to standard incandescent lamps. The superior thermal management system means that the heat radiation area is improved by up to 170%.

The long lives of LED lights also save on energy used in manufacturing – the lifespan of the typical incandescent bulb is 750 hours, while the energy-efficient bulbs in LED lights can keep going for up to 30,000 hours.

Our eco-friendly street lights are constructed from recycled materials and our LED luminaire light fittings last longer than other types of lighting. The dimming features allow you to save up to 70% on your energy bill, making them the perfect choice for environmentally-conscious consumers.

ENERGY-EFFICIENT MOBILES

All of LG’s mobile phones are free from brominated flame retardants (BFRs), PVC and other hazardous components. We encourage mobile phone recycling as part of our a take-back programme and under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006. We are a member of Repic, where you can donate waste products, batteries and packaging in the UK.

The LG POP GD510 mobile phone has an environmentally friendly solar-powered battery cover, which allows the phone to be charged by the sun, and when it’s reached full charge, it sounds a beep to conserve energy. Its packaging follows a green printing method of soy ink on recycled paper.

LG provides economical, environmentally-sound solutions focused on saving energy, so that you can enjoy our products safe in the knowledge that they won’t cost the Earth.
