Freeview HD Update - Loss of Sound

LG wants to inform its customers that there is potential for minor disruption to volume levels across the Freeview HD service, affecting the following LG TV models: LD690, LD790, LE5900, LE8900, LX6900, LX9900, PK590, PK790, PK990.

As a result of a BBC service upgrade, the volume on Freeview HD channels (not SD Freeview channels) on the above models could be affected. This disruption is expected to impact a select number of programmes including BBC Proms 2010 (for full list please see below) and is expected to take effect from Tuesday 27 July and could last up to seven days.

LG is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and limit any inconvenience for its customers. LG is currently developing software that can be issued to all affected customers via an ‘over the air’ download, that will then ensure normal service is resumed. Customers will be prompted to download the necessary software and simply need to accept the option provided.  This software upload may take several hours to complete, however this should not adversely affect your viewing experience. As a result of this software download LG TV owners will experience increased audio quality from HD programmes.

Customers are invited to speak to an LG representative by calling the LG customer service helpline on 0844 847 5454 should they have any questions or concerns about this matter.

LG is committed to offering its customers the very best service and wants to reassure people that this issue is being resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible. LG will update customers as soon as the ‘over the air’ download availability is confirmed.
