My TV is asking for a CIFS password. What is this and how can I set it up?

CauseCause

CIFS stands for Common Internet File System and is the standard way that computer users share files across corporate

intranets and the Internet. This is a security protocol to prevent unauthorised users from accessing the shared information.

How to Fix How to Fix

A CIFS password is created on a PC that is has been set up to share documents and files with other devices. This is not

something that LG are able to offer help with and you will either need to speak to O/S provider or the manufacturer of

their PC for further assistance.
