Why does my refrigerator make a strange noise?

Symptom Symptom

My refrigerator is making a strange/humming noise.

Reason Cause

If the refrigerator temperature is not cool enough, the motor and fan motor run at high speed

to cool causing a humming/whizzing noise.

Noise level may also differ by house structure, location of the refrigerator, floor material,

             and floor level.

Note: The compressor may generate a loud noise when used for the first time after

installation while running to reach a desired temperature.

How to fix How to fix

The humming noise is caused by the speed of the motor and fan motor, depending on

                the inside temperature.

After installation, the noise of the compressor will be reduced gradually as inside temperature

              drops.

As such, the noise is normal and not considered a fault or a sign of a defect.
