What is the whirring sound in my refrigerator?

 Cause

The intermittent whirring sound is caused by the damper.

 Explanation

A damper controls the amount of cold air from the freezer is shared into the fresh food department

The “damper” is opened and closed by the motor inside and it makes the whirring sound (once in 6 sec.) which ensures the normal operation of cool air control.
