great features this is a very good tumbledryer packed with plenty of good ideas.the only gripe I have is the child lock only locks the programme not the machine so your child can turn it off at any time 24 October 2014
Unidirectional tumbling-creator of sheeting balls This tumbler works flawlessly on smaller items. However, loading it with bed sheets, towels etc is not a good idea. The tumbler seems to be spinning only in one direction - effectively rolling up all sheets into one large ball. Machine stops when surface of this ball is dry. However, most of the fabric is still wet. This is a major design flaw in my view. I've never experienced this with any other dryer. 20 October 2014
Beware Needs HUGE 30cm-50cm GAP clearance for air Checked the manual and website support and have realised that LG Tumble dryers require a clearance gap of 30CM-50CM, at the back and the sides if fitted underneath a worktop. This may be unacceptable for the majority of consumers. If this gap is not provided LG will not take responsibility if the machine breaks down. After being told by the Robyn from LG LiveChat and Louise in LG customer care that they recommended 3cm-5cm gap Robyn then conceded that he checked with the head of technical and that a 30CM-50CM gap was definitely required. 10 February 2014
Beware, very aware!! Awful Technical Support I purchased this machine via ao.com. Following a swift delivery, I setup my machine as per the installation, placed my first load in the machine 2no bath sheets and 1no hand towel, set the programme and time stated 2hrs 50mins, accepted that is was long due to the units efficiency, the cycle time stayed on 11 minutes (which is normal function) but after another 3hrs and still were not dry I knew there was a problem! So I contacted ao.com and they put me through to LG technical support 'Riz' he stated that I could not expect to dry these towels and needed to stop towels from covering the sensors at the front of the unit. I stated that the unit was faulty he said no it was normal to have long drying times. (my new Beko A+ dryer, dried these within 2hrs) I was disgusted by how this technician spoke to me. After trying to dry another load my husband called the next day and was told the same thing by Riz. Finally he ran a diagnose over the phone and stated there was a fault and wanted to send an engineer, which was declined. Riz's best question was 'how many socks and pants where in the load, as this is an important factor?' my husband replied no were no way near 8kg of clothes the unit is to dry. So if your clothes are not dry after 3.5hrs there is a fault!!! Sadly I have now lost all faith in LG, due to the treatment received. ao.com however collected the unit and refunded my money swiftly. 29 October @ 10.15 approx. 06 November 2013
