Ideal for smaller rooms, this 300w output home cinema system features gloss black speakers, progressive-scan DVD player, 5.1 Virtual Surround Sound, and 1080p HD picture.
A watt is a unit of energy. With regard to audio systems, watts refer to the energy output of the amplifier or receiver that’s being used to power the speakers. More watts equals more power, and thus more potential volume—itself usually measured in decibels.
Surround sound speaker system
There are many surround sound formats available for the home, from 3-speaker setups, up to 7 or more speakers. The speaker configuration most common standard is known as 5.1 Surround Sound, which refers to the left, right, and center on the front and left surround speakers and surround-right in the back, plus an additional speaker low frequency.
Wonderful moment with surround sound
Classic stereo uses nd" (Surround Sound) refers to a growing number of available formats, like Dolby two independent audio channels to play sound with depth and directionality. "Surround by 5.1 Surround Sound, using multi-channel audio to create an experience more immersive three dimensional sound through speakers strategically located further around the listener.
Here is tips for choosing Home Cinema
There is no set rule for deciding how powerful a sound system you need. Basic ballpark figures say at least 50 watts-per-channel for smaller rooms, and 100 watts-per-channel for larger rooms—and upwards of that for larger spaces. Your own ears are the best guide in making this decision.
Another thing to keep in mind when choosing home cinema components is that the relationship between watts and decibels is exponential, not linear. This means that doubling the wattage does not give you double the volume. As a rule, if you double the number of watts (for example, from 50 to 100) you only get a volume increase of 3dB, which is almost imperceptible. To double the volume, you would instead need to multiply the number of watts by a factor of ten—requiring, for example, a 500-watt system to achieve twice the volume of a 50-watt system.

The Benefits of Audio Specially Tuned by Mark Levinson
VSM (Virtual Sound Matrix)
VSM enhances the listening experience from a home cinema system,
by enabling the sound to travel more smoothly around the room.
This is done by creating ‘virtual speakers’ that direct the sound.
For example, VSM on a 2.1 home cinema system creates a ‘virtual’ 5.1
surround sound effect so that the sound appears to be coming from
the back of the room.
MP3 CD-R/RW
Supports playback of MP3 files recorded to CD-R/RW.
Windows Media Compatible
Compatible with Windows Media Center Software.
DivX
DivX is a file format that allows movies to be compressed and fit onto
a CD, as a DivX movie is about 8 to 12 time smaller than a DVD. DivX
playback on LGs video and audio products allow you to download
DivX movies from the Internet onto a CD or USB stick, to then enjoy
in the comfort of your living room.
Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Audio
Sound quality and audio detail with Blu-ray is vastly improved when compared to DVDs because the raw audio isn't compressed. That means there's no loss in quality and all the details of the sound appear as they would in the cinema. High-definition audio comes in two formats: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Audio. LG's Blu-ray player works with both, so you'll always experience the finest sound.
USB Direct Recording
With USB Ripping, you can connect a compatible MP3 player to the
LG product’s USB port and record or ‘rip’ music from a CD directly to
the MP3 player. The tracks will be copied onto the MP3 player in the
order they appear on the CD. This great feature enables you to copy
music on a MP3 player without the need for a computer!
