What a great TV
When I was reviewing LED TV's, the LG42LM670T was the best rated. However, I still had concerns what the picture would be like in Standard Definition from a Sky sat box, there was no need to have worried because the picture is fantastic, and I am highly critical having worked in video editing and with film many years ago.
Although I do not watch much 3D, if I have a good movie in 2D, I switch it to 3D and with the passive glasses supplied, it's really an enjoyable experience.
The TV / stand is a beautiful design and having "wobble" tested other makes in the shops, I think this one is about as steady as it gets.
One thing I haven't tested fully is the Smart TV, but it seems OK. The second remote #the wand# is works beautifully.
Two words of caution:
1. If the TV wants to UPDATE the software, make a note of the file number, download it from the LG site by searching for the TV number - download to the HD of your PC, Un-Zip it, make a folder on a USB memory stick named LG_DTV, put the extracted file in to the folder and plug it in to the TV and it will update - I found, letting the TV update the software can take a very very long time.
2. Setting the screen up can take some time - i.e. colours, tints, contrast, local dimming etc.
If it's possible to update this review, I will post the settings which work for me, within the next few weeks - they may work for you also.
