We’re in no doubt that the best value for money in this test is represented by LG’s splendid 47LW650T – and not just because it offers an inch more screen than its competitors.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Does most of what it says it will Easy to set up, lightweight if you're bracket mounting, could maybe do with SCART connectors but that's old tech now... Excellent picture and the 2D>3D feature is quite startling. And the cinema-type 3D glasses (7 pairs packed with the TV...) make 3D viewing an easily-shared experience. Moans? When I put the sound through my "main" amp and home cinema speakers there's a slight delay from the TV sound so you have to turn that right down or the effect is very odd. And then the lip/speech is slightly out of synch. I need to have another look at the settings but I found an LG demo model in a shop doing the same thing. And when you go netsurfing there's no Flash player on board so you can't get video content except via dedicated YouTube or similar apps. That is a bit of a let-down, and I gather from reading around that a project to develop "Flash-Lite" software a couple of years ago was dropped. If LG is to live up to its claim that you can surf the net just like from a PC then I think this needs to be sorted! 14 December 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great HD & 3D not so good SD Owned this TV for a year now. I walked into the store not intending to buy a 3D TV and walked out with one!!! At the time Sky TV were offering up to £150 cash back with this TV which definitely helped swayed me. Initially I was disappointed with the TV as the HD picture wasn't great and the SD picture quality was awful. A quick search on the internet for the best settings and this was soon sorted. I could list mine here but we're all different. (The Dark Knight on blu ray was fantastic). Shortly afterwards bought an LG 3D blu ray player to go with it. Have to say the 3D is outstanding. Again, play around with the picture settings to find your perfect match. How to train your dragon in 3D was outstanding. Crisp clear 3D images that come right out of the screen. This TV has 2 USB ports and I have watched many a film and TV programme this way. It can handle pretty much anything. mkv files in 720p look as good as if they were on a blu ray disc. The smart tv is okay. BBC iPlayer is flawless and is available in HD as is the Youtube app. All stream well. I use a homeplug and get a 16mb download speeds so no issues. Havent used any of the other apps as they all seem pretty useless. Lovefilm is available but for some reason (and would be a deal clincher if I was buying today) is that there is no Netflix on this TV. God knows why a it seems to be on others. The DLNA network is good, again it handles pretty much any format thrown at it. Overall I am happy with this TV. It was less than £600 when I bought this a year ago. There are a few downside for me: 1) SD quality could be better(seeing as most channels in the UK are still in SD unless you subscribe to Sky at an extra cost this is how you will watch your programmes) 2) No Netflix. 3) The ability to connect a hard drive to record TV is not available in the UK (I believe something to do with the agreement with freeview) This is a shame as by all accounts if you live any where else in Europe you can do this Would I recommend this TV? Yes I think I would. Good value for money. Great HD and excellent 3D. 14 December 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by cross talk there still a little cross talk on white image and black background in 3d mode but 3d is still better then any other tv 30 January 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product and great value Simple, sociable and full hd brilliant 3d experience - irrespective of the comments made by CNET.com. Excellent 2D and HD channel pictures as per the review of what hifi. Motion handling could be slightly better, but it is a good value tv for the money i paid. Good smart tv functionality. All in all a great tv at a bargain price. 07 January 2012
