What People Are Saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An ok tv but not great Sometimes the picture quality is just rubbish despite trying different settings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good all round TV On the plus side I now have a TV that has one of the best pictures I have seen in a long time without selling body parts to afford it. The user setting is excellent, just being able to remove the TV channels that some bureaucrat decided to put next to the Children's channels is a god send! Regular software updates for the TV seem to keep it in tip top condition. The Duel Play is amazing, which is good because this is the main reason for buying this TV in the first place. On the down side, I have no idea what the software updates actually do, also can't seem to watch 4od as it says there are plugin's missing? Not the end of the world. All in all a very good set, Love LG and have had them for the past 10 years or so.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a Whopper! MASSIVE screen, looks superb in any HD content, but is let down only slightly by SD resolution, (probably because it is such a huge size). Also motion lag is sometimes noticeable even on highest setting of motion clarity. Still fiddling with the settings on these two issues. On-line content is excellent and hours of fun, but for the price wi-fi should be built in, (Come on LG, see equivalent Samsung), also having the dongle stuck out the side is a bit unsightly. The whole Passive / Active debate rages on, but honestly, 3D is great, with real depth and clarity, despite being passive and the glasses are so comfy! A friends Samsung Active 3D gave me such a headache after just 10mins! I have an LG HX966TZ Home Cinema plumbed in and combined, the 2 produce an unparalleled Audio / Video experience. 3D Blu ray and 1100W 5.1 is 'jaw dropping'! Plenty of connections, including USB and 4 x HDMI, a real 'must have' with all the gadgets and boxes to hook up. The kids love the dual screen mode for gaming, no more cheating to see where the other player is! Overall it's a beast of a TV, with some excellent features, at a very reasonable price. My friends are quite envious!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I picked up the LG 42LM620T in a bank holiday sale, and I must admit, I did little research other than reading other reviews. My first impressions were...wow. Just taking out of the box was fun, fixing the stand and then placing it in the room. It replaced an older LCD 37" TV so the first impression was the screen size and surround size, it looks great! Then after a very quick and easy config we got to watching some HD content via Freeview and it is awesome! The colours are stunning. It was a little harder to test the 3D as I have no 3D TV channels, but via my small black TV box made by a company whose name is a fruit, connected to my new TV I was able to stream some LG demo material from YouTube. This simply blew our minds! The 3D tech is branded Cinema 3D, and true to this we used our own Real3D glasses from the cinema which work great with the TV! The 3D effect is th best I have encountered, and I have used both Active and Passive 3D. I would recommend this TV with no hesitation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Stunning! I received this 65” TV over a week ago and I’m stunned; what a superb TV. For some reason it was very difficult to buy this set but took a chance after seeing an in store demo of the 55" version; I already had a 55” 2d HD set so I needed the 65” version to help justify the upgrade. It was well worth the long wait. I don't know if I've been lucky but I can find no significant fault with this set. Turned off it looks far more impressive than photos suggest. Turn it on and wow, the 2d HD picture is immaculate and the 3d is out of this world. SD is well…SD but it looks quite presentable after some adjustment. The Olympics ceremony looked amazing in 3d and the rest of the sport is really convincing and gripping. David Attenbrough's Kingdom of Plants takes my breath away. Happy the set was working I bought a 3d bluray player and put in Avatar. The picture is totally convincing; far better & more realistic than IMAX. The detail and picture quality is unbelievable. I've been to Pandora ha-ha! Looking critically, there's no smearing, no banding and movement is fluid. The corners are very marginally brighter than the rest of the screen but if I'd not been half expecting some problems with the set I wouldn't have noticed it. Blacks are deep and impressive. The bluray of Avatar did show minor judder at times. Switching to 24p this disappeared. I'm viewing at 11 feet which is as close as I can get on the 3d broadcasts before the picture structure becomes apparent. On bluray 3d and hd 9 feet is the limit & that's wearing prescription glasses to correct for mild short sightedness. One panic was that the Kylie concert and Green Lantern at first kept going very dark at random. Turning off dynamic contrast removed the problem. Trumotion set on low doesn't seem to introduce any significant problems. Well done LG for perfecting the passive system & sticking with it. The active system doesn't work for me because I can still see flicker & so I’d originally abandoned the idea of 3d altogether. I and friends have watched for hours with no flicker, no batteries, no recharging, comfortable glasses and no headaches. We all agreed it's the best 3d we've ever seen. I’m impressed & really thrilled with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing Took delivery of the 65" a couple of days ago & I'm stunned; what a superb TV. I planned to buy from Amazon but it was unavailable to order for weeks so ended up ordering in Currys White City Manchester after a 55" demo. Reading some of the comments in other places, I don't know if I've been lucky but I can find no significant fault with this set. Turned off it looks stunning, turned on and wow, the 2d picture is immaculate and the 3d is out of this world. The Olympics ceremony looked amazing in 3d and the rest of the sport is really convincing and gripping. David Attenbrough's Kingdom of Plants takes my breath away. Happy the set was working I bought the Panasonic 3d bluray 320 and put in Avatar yesterday. The picture is totally convincing; far better & more realistic than IMAX. The detail and picture quality is unbelievable. I've been to Pandora ha-ha! Looking critically, there's no smearing, no banding and movement is fluid. The corners are very marginally brighter than the rest of the screen but if I'd not been keyed up to expect some problems with the set I wouldn't have noticed it. The bluray of Avatar did show minor judder at times. Switching to 24p this disappeared. I'm viewing at 11 feet which is as close as I can get on Sky 3d before the picture structure becomes apparent. Bluray 3d and hd 9 feet is the limit & that's wearing prescription glasses for mild short sightedness. One panic was that the Kylie concert and Green Lantern at first kept going very dark at random. I and friends have watched for hours with no flicker, no batteries, comfortable glasses and no headaches. We all agreed it's the best 3d we've ever seen. LG!!! How you ever sell anything amazes me. When for weeks no major online retailer would permit ordering this set I contacted LG customer services by email to ask what the problem was. Paraphrasing, the first response was 'if there was any demand for this set then retailers would stock it'. The second tried to persuade be to buy a smaller size even though I'd made clear I wanted the 65". The 3rd, Donna, did at least agree to ask sales why the set was unavailable but I never got an answer! Absolutely useless. You have a superb product on your hands, when you have an enthusiastic customer waiting to buy why make it so difficult to buy it? And for your information, Curry's Manchester have just sold 5 of this model so there clearly is a demand.
