An ok tv but not great
Sometimes the picture quality is just rubbish despite trying different settings.

A good all round TV
On the plus side I now have a TV that has one of the best pictures I have seen in a long time without selling body parts to afford it.
The user setting is excellent, just being able to remove the TV channels that some bureaucrat decided to put next to the Children's channels is a god send!
Regular software updates for the TV seem to keep it in tip top condition. The Duel Play is amazing, which is good because this is the main reason for buying this TV in the first place.
On the down side, I have no idea what the software updates actually do, also can't seem to watch 4od as it says there are plugin's missing?
Not the end of the world.
All in all a very good set, Love LG and have had them for the past 10 years or so.

I picked up the LG 42LM620T in a bank holiday sale, and I must admit, I did little research other than reading other reviews.
My first impressions were...wow. Just taking out of the box was fun, fixing the stand and then placing it in the room. It replaced an older LCD 37" TV so the first impression was the screen size and surround size, it looks great! Then after a very quick and easy config we got to watching some HD content via Freeview and it is awesome! The colours are stunning. It was a little harder to test the 3D as I have no 3D TV channels, but via my small black TV box made by a company whose name is a fruit, connected to my new TV I was able to stream some LG demo material from YouTube.
This simply blew our minds! The 3D tech is branded Cinema 3D, and true to this we used our own Real3D glasses from the cinema which work great with the TV!
The 3D effect is th best I have encountered, and I have used both Active and Passive 3D.
I would recommend this TV with no hesitation.

I received this 65” TV over a week ago and I’m stunned; what a superb TV. For some reason it was very difficult to buy this set but took a chance after seeing an in store demo of the 55" version; I already had a 55” 2d HD set so I needed the 65” version to help justify the upgrade. It was well worth the long wait.
I don't know if I've been lucky but I can find no significant fault with this set. Turned off it looks far more impressive than photos suggest. Turn it on and wow, the 2d HD picture is immaculate and the 3d is out of this world. SD is well…SD but it looks quite presentable after some adjustment. The Olympics ceremony looked amazing in 3d and the rest of the sport is really convincing and gripping. David Attenbrough's Kingdom of Plants takes my breath away. Happy the set was working I bought a 3d bluray player and put in Avatar. The picture is totally convincing; far better & more realistic than IMAX. The detail and picture quality is unbelievable. I've been to Pandora ha-ha!
Looking critically, there's no smearing, no banding and movement is fluid. The corners are very marginally brighter than the rest of the screen but if I'd not been half expecting some problems with the set I wouldn't have noticed it. Blacks are deep and impressive. The bluray of Avatar did show minor judder at times. Switching to 24p this disappeared. I'm viewing at 11 feet which is as close as I can get on the 3d broadcasts before the picture structure becomes apparent. On bluray 3d and hd 9 feet is the limit & that's wearing prescription glasses to correct for mild short sightedness.
One panic was that the Kylie concert and Green Lantern at first kept going very dark at random. Turning off dynamic contrast removed the problem. Trumotion set on low doesn't seem to introduce any significant problems.
Well done LG for perfecting the passive system & sticking with it. The active system doesn't work for me because I can still see flicker & so I’d originally abandoned the idea of 3d altogether. I and friends have watched for hours with no flicker, no batteries, no recharging, comfortable glasses and no headaches. We all agreed it's the best 3d we've ever seen.
I’m impressed & really thrilled with my purchase!
