What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! I bought my unit in 2013 it worked wonders, but with any product after much use it dies off. Mine lasted me four years. It just recently started to make this noise as it the motor was eating itself. It is a great product to have and it was priced just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cools in minutes I bought these A/C earlier 2015 a year has passed n it still amazing the way these product still work like the first day I got it. It cools down my room to a tempeture that is not to uncomfortable to feel, is quiet an smart. Is easy to move from room to room an it giver ur favorite room an elegant touch to it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No way Had this unit for 3 years and it's not good. The room I use it for is small. But in order to try to keep the room somewhat cool I need to have the AC and the fan on. i'll never buy an LG cooling system again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great item with low maintenance Bought 2 of these units when my AC went out. They were easy to get setup and after about a week of near all day running went to try and empty the drip pan thinking it has to be full but had hardly nothing in it. Highly recommend getting these if you have an AC break or a room in your house stays hotter then the others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after one year This is my second LG air conditioner in two years and again it is broken. They just don't seem to be built to last at all. They always break just as the warranty expires too. Low quality product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from To noisy, ambient temperature stayed at 79 degrees, not a good product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for my large bedroom I bought this because I had the lower model for quite some time. I upgraded and the results were good. Not to loud, easy to clean and small size for the amount of power.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Like the 'portability' though noisy, slow. Easy to set up and move around although 'flexible' hose is a misnomer and it does take up more space than I expected.. Window connection is flimsy and not too stable. Not as efficient as my window AC but does nelp on the really hot days. Probably would not buy another one.

My unit keeps saying waterfull when i test and try to reset it. And it tells me if the waterfull light is on to drain the tank. Where is the tank to drain excess water?

Asked by: Lanna
We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. When the internal water collection tank is full, FL will appear in the display and the air conditioner will turn off until the tank is emptied. Unplug the air conditioner, disconnect the exhaust hose from the back, and move the air conditioner to a suitable drain location or outdoors. You may also place a pan under the drain that will hold up to 3 pints of water. Remove the drain cap and the rubber plug from the drain outlet. Once the water collection tank is drained, reinstall the rubber plug and the drain cap, making sure it is on securely. Place the air conditioner in the desired location, reconnect the exhaust hose, and plug in the air conditioner.

Can I put this unit in a closet room that has a door to an office with AC? Does this unit need to be vented? Picture in the box shows duct installation- do you have to use duct kit or will it work in the closet room?

Asked by: Chris122880
The LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP0813WNR has to be vented to the outside and the window installation kit that is supplied with this unit allows you to vent it through the window. The exhaust hose that is used to vent hot air out from the room that the unit is installed in attaches to an 18" window vent panel which with a 9" Panel B, a 17" Panel C and 17" Panel D allows you to install the kit in most vertical-sliding windows from 18" to 50" wide and casement-style windows (horizontal-sliding windows) 18" to 50" high...^IFV

How do I turn the unit to sleep? What does sleep do?

Asked by: 3420Tony
We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. The SLEEP Mode is activated using the SLEEP button on the remote control. According to the information on page 12 of the owner’s manual, The SLEEP Mode increases the temperature by one degree every 2 hours, to allow a more comfortable adjustment for the user. This will allow the machine to increase the temperature by a maximum 2 degrees.

I received this product with an installation for a window but I'd like to install it into the wall. Can this be done? Do I need to order a separate hose?

Asked by: RumHam
I apologize, but no; this model has not been designed for installation into, or connection to a wall vent or other such connection. This model should be connected to a window for proper operation and efficiency.

We just purchased the LG unit and have it at 60 but the air is coming out warm. Is there anything we missed while setting up? Everything seems to be running smoothly other than the cold air.

Asked by: KV86
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this portable air conditioner. If this machine is blowing warm air, and the exhaust duct is connected to the window and the machine properly, then it may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

I completely drained the water from the unit for storage. Now I want to use it again. Since it is completely empty do I need to add water, how much an d where in the unit?

Asked by: Omaa
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. There is never cause to add water to this air conditioner. It should also not require checking the amount of water in the machine, as the water that has been extracted from the humidity in the air will be re-used by the machine to enhance efficiency of the cooling process.

How do you put water in this unit?

Asked by: Scott1967
You don't put water into the LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP0813WNR, it doesn't require water and does not operate on water. It uses a refrigerant to cool the air in your room. The only water in the unit is the condensate that collects in the internal water collection tank which will need to be emptied when the tank gets full...^IFV

Can the 8 & 10 k units run efficiently without venting to the outdoors? What problems, if any, are of concern. Thanks

Asked by: Imtoyman
The LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP0813WNR, like any other air conditioner, regardless of whether it's a Portable Air Conditioner, Window Air Conditioner or Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner needs to be vented to the outside otherwise you would just be recycling the hot air in the same room. Because the portable unit is inside the room that you have it installed in, the only way that it can vent the hot moist air from your room is through the exhaust vent that connects to the window vent panel so the unit can vent to the outside...^IFV
